Nonsense - he has flushed out those that aren't really as loving of America as they might want to appear to be.

"Uniting" is overrated. Obama tried to "unite" the world with his pandering big pro-Islam speech in Egypt....that was the wrong thing to do.

When they take a "knee" during the anthem, they are choosing something OVER the anthem/flag/America - choosing political protest OVER the anthem/flag/America. Don't you get that?

Why wouldn't Trump keep adding fuel? There is no downside - for Trump.

Trump is exposing political-correctness for the cancer that it is.

Most Americans are somewhere in the middle of all these issues. But it does seem as you state that the left latches onto the fringe issues. Middle America is a lot more willing to side with the police over BLM when they see or hear the rants and sometimes violence BLM causes. BLM initial cause of police brutality gets lost on them. Yesterday, the little protest movement for social justice by Kap kneeling took a huge hit if not destroyed altogether. The casual fan, the non-political and most of middle America disliked Kap kneeling to begin with. But overlooked it as it was more or less an irritant like a gnat caused.

Yesterday politics took over the NFL, to those same Americans in the middle it now looks like a battle between millionaire football players and billionaire team owners vs a president who is a billionaire. Why beyond an irritant. Now I think most are peeved at what them deem as the players bringing politics into football. A game middle America went to or tuned into to get away from politics and the real world. Neither Trump or the players will benefit from this. My opinion anyway.

The portions of the very heart of America that are racist need to be identified and excised. For a whole lot of people, that may feel awkward at the very least. But, that is NOT an excuse for ignoring those portions of America that are simply not acceptable.

    This is free speech.

It's not like other methods haven't been tried and thoroughly ignored.

Did you really think this would go away by simply telling millions of Americans to **** and ignore the problem?

That is correct. Kaepernick is aligned with what passes for the radical Left these days. He is openly anti-American. Why the entire NFL would climb out on the anti-flag/anti-America limb and hand Trump a saw is hard to figure. Maybe their PR "experts" are secret Trump fans. ;-)

The least hated. That was a choice made last year by quite a lot of Americans. I opted out of that choice by voting third party, against both of them. But when one steps into the voting booth he usually knows one or the other of the two major party candidates is going to win. So the question becomes, which one will cause the least damage or which one do I detest the least? Then hold your nose and vote for one even though in reality one doesn't want either one. At least according to Gallup, that was what 25% of America thought, they disliked both major party candidates. 54% of all independents disliked both Trump and Clinton. So it became a matter of voting for the lesser of two evils, the least disliked candidate, the least horrible candidate in one's personal view or opting for a third party vote for a known loser.

Why? Did an actual thought creep in?

What a desolate lonely place that must be.

His angry, alienated cult likes to pretend that most Americans are alienated from America.
The United States desperately needs a leader who recognizes the principle "United we stand; divided we fall", not one who exploits and exacerbates differences.

Since when did it become anti-american to recognize an injustice and protest against it?

When did exercising one's rights become anti-american?

Since when does standing up for national values become anti-american?

Oh right, when its one of them priviledge coloreds screwing with the biggest sports money maker on earth.

I guess to some staunch patriots its anti american for them not to know their place.

If you insert "by disrespecting the flag" before each of those question marks, you'll know.

You said, "Defending America and it's symbol - the anthem/flag - is NOT racist."

And, I pointed out that isn't the issue. And, it is not.

Now, your "Don't you get that" seems to imply YOU don't get it - in fact, you flipped the issue as it there were some equivalence between the two claims you made!!

Besides, I've answered that several times now. And, I've pointed out that you can learn the objections of major league sports athletes, coaches and owners by simply asking them!!

They are quoted all over the press today. You don't actually have to ask me.

Also, you can read about Trump and read his tweets.

    Yes.
    Protesting racial injustice: ok.
    Disrespecting our anthem/flag/nation: NOT ok.

If you actually believe that being pc by standing during a song constitutes "loving America" , you criteria are laughable.
