In an interview with SI Now Live, Smith called the attacks “overkill” and believes that athletes are held to a higher standard than Pres. Donald Trump. “It’s amazing we expect so much from our athletes but don’t expect the same from our president and chief,” Smith said. “These are mistakes, these are things that he may have thought was funny and someone took offense to it. Sensitivity levels are so high, for what reasons I don’t know.” http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/
He must live with his head in the sand. Jimmy Carter: 'The media have been harder on Trump than any other president' https://www.google.com/amp/amp.wpxi...r-on-trump-than-any-other-president/628446537
I think that mostly all Trump supporters would agree with these two points: We know Trump is... umm... not the smoothest operator. We honestly don't care about that, as long as he pursues the goals that we want to see achieved. We also know that most (all?) of the bad stuff said about him is either made up, or distorted, or overblown.
Hold athletes to higher standards, hardly. Most of us know that these athletes were pushed through high school and college...never got a real education, most of them can't put a coherent sentence together unless they are talking about football. They are good at playing the game otherwise most of them are dumb as a box of rocks.
Yeah expecting them to honor the flag and what it represents, while not attacking police who are not the problem, is SUCH a high standard. Learn to use your prefrontal cortex Cam.
