If you ask the average white nationalist or a KKK member why they don't like black Americans, 99% will not say, "Because their skin is dark."

Instead, they will talk of crime rates, culture, attitude towards cops and authority, etc ....

My point is, when most people who dislike certain groups, it's because of chosen behavior and culture, not because of their physical appearance.

Racism to me is hating on someone because of who they are and that which they cannot choose. Using that definition, I find racism to be non-existent.

I think the average white nationalist would rather 10,000 Ben Carsons to one white violent thug.

Do you ever have the integrity and ability to discuss the topic instead of these meanings posts ?

try posting something worth taking seriously. "white supremacists have justifications for their prejudices" is the most banal and worthless observation you could make.

funny thing is, the OP is likely a victim of Nazi or KKK or White Supremacist racism due to his very dark skin and third world heritage.

    Stockholm Syndrome?

    perhaps.

Each race earns a certain reputation. It can be true or not true but it is the general perception. If I meet a stranger then I will judge them on their race's reputation until I get to know them. Cartoons and movies from the past would always portray groups of people in certain ways. As far as racism is concerned, the world will always have racism just like it will always have crime. The best we can do is pass laws and educate in order to encourage acceptance of all people. But we can't change personal discrimination.

racism is the judging of someone's character simply due to their race, and especially mistreating them simply due to their race.

quite ignorant to suggest racism doesn't exist.

many Indian-Americans and Sihks were victims of racism in the USA after 9-11 as they were presumed to be Arabs Muslims by ignorant racists & bigots.

Sometimes things are easier to understand if you look at the premise without the hot points. Let's try this, for example.

Most people like dogs- and aside from some characteristics not relevant here, all dogs. We don't discriminate based on characteristics such as color. But what if, out of all the dog colors, one particular color group was responsible for the majority of unprovoked dog bites? Now no logical person would conclude that the color controlled the tendency to bite,
but virtually all would see the color as a marker- a way to identify a dog likely to bite, the common denominator.

Point is that any group you are part of will become at least an influence on how people see you. This could be your religion, your politics, your race, the way you choose to dress. None of those control your personal behavior, but they do associate you with a group that tends to think along similar lines, and the reputation of that group will influence the way people will see you. However, the group does,as a composite determine it's own reputation, doing so by the behavior of it's members- sort of the ingredients in the pot controlling the soup. The members of a group make it what it is; it is rational and logical to assume that if you are part of a group you have chosen to be part of, the values of the group and of you are similar. Point is- that can be positive or negative, it works both ways. Even if it's not a group you chose to be part of, this is true.

So- what if a company that found that every bald person they hired was a first-class employee? Once that association was recognized, bald applicants soon have a huge advantage. What if all the people named Jones proved to be a totally trustworthy and reliable credit risk?

Good judgment is not discrimination, not racist or hate-related. Unfortunately- Americans as a group still fall short of the mark when it comes to understanding that.

LOL 3rd world heritage ? My grandfather retired at 50 after running a successful company. You know nothing about me.
The fact remains, most 'racists' are not racist. They are culturalists and hate other groups for their chosen behavior and culture.

I love dogs, but Pitts are statistically more prone to violence based on yearly stats of attacks. You're saying it's not racist to be more concerned of pitt bulls for this reason ?

I see your point but actual racists do exist although they are a tiny minority.

Most of us just violate lefty imposed pc Norms and get accused of racism.

Take me for example. I'm the most anti-racist person there is yet I get accused of being racist by some people on here.

No, it's not. You are talking about a behavioral tendency. My example was not breed- specific, it was color, to illustrate how group association affects the way we perceive risk. The risk that is inherent in a breed of animal is just what they are. You take that into account, you respect the potential. If I encounter a dog, I do consider that certain breeds of dogs present a higher risk- and that includes, Chows, Dobermans and Pit Bulls. That means I am more cautious, not that I think they have no right to exist. I'm also cautious around buffalo and bears when I'm in Yellowstone. That's common sense and respect, not discrimination.

Point was that a group you are part of either by chance or choice, does influence the way you are seen because you are part of the group. In turn, the way you behave influences the way the group is seen. Both of those are related to how we behave.

ANTI-SEMITISM is RACIST, unless you are now to launch into your Jews are not a race dodge. Which is the point, race does NOT exist. Only some bone structure changes, and skin melatonin content. And some local genetic changes due to environmental pressures.

You just think that because you've never seen a real social justice warrior in your life. I am an actual social justice Warrior. I've Been instrumental in the fight against white racism. Now that white racism is defeated it's time to go after Jewish prejudices and special treatment that causes them to dominate in the entertainment industry, banking, and the military industrial complex. These industries need affirmative action just like black people continue to need it till this day. Equality across the board or not at all.

Of course, that tendency has now gone beyond any limit at all. The writers of South Park's outlandish satire comedy couldn't keep up with the lunacy we are seeing come out of the liberal universities. Truth is becoming stranger than the wildest imagination. . Take a look at this exert from a news article that came out yesterday:

"A City University of New York sociology professor reportedly said in a tweetstorm last week that “the white-nuclear family” promotes racism, prompting a backlash on social media.

Jessie Daniels, described as an expert on “the Internet manifestations of racism” on her CUNY page, infuriated social media users after reportedly saying that white families promote racism by default.

The professor began her argument saying she learned that “the white-nuclear family is one of the most powerful forces supporting white supremacy,” adding that that families “reproducing white children” are “part of the problem” as they facilitate white supremacy in the country, Campus Reform reported."

She also believes that if you leave your home to your children when you die, you are supporting "housing inequality..."

A storm of criticism followed and she locked down her twitter account. Hopefully the college will lock her out, but don't bet on it.

Disparate groups don’t have singular behaviour though. People who dislike groups do so because they assume everyone in that group (by their definition) is guilty of the same behaviour, typically because of the actions of a subset or flawed stereotypes. Things like not liking all Christians because they hate homosexuals, not liking all Southerners because they all sleep with their cousins or not liking all police officers because they shot innocent people.

But if the average white nationalist didn’t know who Ben Carson was and saw him on the street, they’d assume he was a stupid, violent thug rather than an intelligent, professional politician, solely based on the colour of his skin.

Or more likely, two factors- the way he presented himself (well dressed, or a crips bandanna on his head for example) and the way he acted- like he was determined to bully others, or was polite and respectable.

You don't assume that every member running with a street gang is bad, do you? Gee.... that would be assuming something.

no, most racists stereotype and hate folks due to their ethnicity or skin color.

like all the idiots who hated Indians after 9-11 cause they thought they were Arabs.

Absolutely- and I've had close black friends. It's not the person- it's how the person behaves and what their values are. However if the person is a gang member or in association with any group whose behavior is undesirable, they be- regardless of their color. Those who wish to blame their exclusion or situation on race always see it so; "I was fired because I was black" crap. These are people with a chip on their shoulder looking to perpetuate racism, not resolve it.

Especially when you see it in everything that is said, and blame logical observations as racism to avoid reality. Racism is being preserved by the people who charge racism, they are the ones insuring it will continue, by offending others under the justification of being entitled victims.

Just a footnote on a racial bias bit of news that has just surfaced:
    White men need not apply.

That’s the message out of the Democratic National Committee’s hiring team, currently on the hunt to fill multiple vacancies in their tech department.

The political organization, which routinely makes grand statements about inclusion, recently sent an email to its employees looking to recruit people for eight open spots including IT Systems Administrator, Product Manager and Chief Security Officer.

Though the Oct. 30 email says that the DNC is looking for a “staff of diverse voices and life experiences,” it apparently doesn’t mean white men.

DNC’s Data Service Manager Madeleine Leader purportedly wrote in an email that the desire for diversity excludes “cisgender straight white males.”

Leader adds, “I personally would prefer that you not forward to cisgender straight white males, as they are already in the majority.”

Cisgender is a term for people whose gender identity matches the sex that they were assigned to at birth.
