Government spending increases economic activity, which is why when a recession hits, government spending goes into overdrive to help pull the economy out of it.

 

you have learned 327 times now that govt spending means govt taxing which decreases economic activity thus no net gain is possible. Shall we go for 328?

 

govt spending causes a decrease in economic activity and causes recessions since,
1) the taxing required drys up private spending by exact amount of govt spending
2) govt spending is wasteful and inefficient as compared to private spending and when it is withdrawn causes a recession. Recent housing stimulus depression is perfect example.
