You are a smart lady and you are right. The Swiss exemplify small government and freedom. But they are also parked next door to mighty neighbors like Germany and France who tolerate them as such. Same as Canada is. It is the giant on the block that makes the midget governments possible. Even so I agree with you about no world order is a good world order. But history tells us otherwise. History tells us that it all depends. While Rome was a world order that was evil at its roots, Persia was a world order that before the Greeks came to destroy it was fairly benevolent -- Persia was probably the first benevolent world order. It is probably the only one. But one thing you said is true -- there is less freedom under a world order. And it is impossible to throw off a world order power. But how did you get sidetracked on world orders? This thread was supposed to be about Putin retiring in the USA like Gorbechev did.
You're guessing. Trump is leading an anti globalism crusade. If he wins then globalism is dead and isolationism will return. China and Germany and Japan have abused globalism and Trump will not let them continue as far as the USA is concerned. So just wait and see. Nations go thru phases of isolationism and the USA looks like it is about to begin another one.
Trump is a politician, not god and I doubt even god could stop the tsunami of globalism that has engulfed the world in recent years. Trump might delay it, and to the extent that this happens he will ruin our economy, but he will not stop it. Do you live close to a port city? Go down to the docks and look at the container yards and the container ships. Look at the container handling machinery, All of that is just one aspect of globalism. Nobody will stop that.
Yes exactly...thank you, Trump's rhetoric has also changed, he's friendlier towards Japan and China... the isolation Putin had hoped for will not materialise
How does globalism limit freedom? I would dispute that government works the way you are saying entirely or even most of the time.
Unsurprisingly Putin announced he's running for re-election in 2018 Putin announces 2018 re-election bid, ending long speculation https://www.9news.com.au/world/2017/12/07/06/50/putin-announces-2018-reelection-bid ^^^^ wait for it.... Russian trolls to fawn and drool in 3...2...1...
Putin announced today that he will be running in the next election ...as if we couldn't guess. His ratings are sky high, and the ratings of his opponents are ridiculous.
What's going to stop it is a major war or natural disaster. That's when people will realize they should have a certain amount of self sufficiency as a matter of survival. But what concerns me is the concept of a world government, which will be a tyranny since the larger the government the less rights individuals have.
Little putie boy will get "re-elected" with about 112% turnout, including pet hamsters, iguanas, and shitzus. after that he'll proclaim himself dictator for life, and he will eventually leave....feet first on a hospital gurney, at the tender ripe age of 98, beating Robert Mugabes 94 yrs young.. By that time he will be succeeded by someone named "Rasheed", from the New Chechen Federation, who will proclaim Arabic as the official language of what used to be the Russian federation!
Hey... leave the shi-tzus out of it.... I have one You know I think that's Putin's worst nightmare... was listening to a podcast article on Russia's Resurgence while I was cooking... not really the thing to do when you are working with knives lol... anyway sounds to me like NATO is going to have to sharpen up quick smart. Nato has responded but it's not nearly enough https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/russia-fsu/2017-10-16/responding-russias-resurgence
All things considered...the russkis probably would need those high numbers of troops, considering the casualty rate they may suffer as a result of full scale combat. Not much has changed since the "great patriotic war". No one knows for sure what their true casualties are in Syria, Ukraine. But now that they've been banned from the Olympics, I'm betting there'll be some incursion somewhere. I'm sure the kremlin porch monkey had a "meltdown" behind closed doors after hearing he was banned. That had to have hit him like a pickup truck, lol. Oh sure, I'm sure it's on Putin's mind that the Muslims are reproducing like flies in the RF, and the russkis themselves are imploding. Krokodil...russias deadliest drug.
that was heartbreaking, they talk about narco terrorism... sounds like the long term plan Hezbollah has for the US. The Russian police so corrupt there's no one to stop the distribution, perhaps this is why they want to create their own internet... people found Krokodil online...shocking really
Krokodil makes crystal meth/crack look like sea salt. It's widespread so I doubt you can stop much of it.
It's nasty... has to go into a vein or you start rotting from the inside out...imagine what it's doing to your brain... the two young guys being interviewed at the end were like zombies with a chilling stare... they could barely communicate... I feel sorry for the mother... the people affected are mostly poor... trying to escape their poverty with drugs. I think it just proves that you can never stop fighting drugs... if you do this is what it comes to.
How do disasters increase self-sufficiency? Seems it would do the exact opposite to me, since whatever aid any stricken area is getting must necessarily be coming from someplace else it would illustrate how much we all depend on each other, no? WHY is it so that the larger the government the less rights individuals have? Again, seems to me it would be the precise opposite, larger governments have more people to govern, so they will be inclined to let individuals do more for themselves and just confine themselves to what is necessary to keep us from killing each other.
Who is interested in evidence in the West? It is enough to repeat a thousand times any nonsense and Americans will believe in it.
