Especially because the fact that the GOP eliminated the individual mandate, the remaining insured tend to be the most sick.

It's Trumpcare now. We're going to take a bit hit. As is the majority of Trump's own core base. which includes 60% of Republicans between the ages of 50 to 64

And, as usual, you would be wrong.

And that was because of a terrifically successful propaganda campaign. The ACA is now as popular as it once was unpopular and that is because of it's performance..not propaganda. Killing it or causing premiums to rise by 10% is NOT going to be a winner

    With a one word response

    Propaganda...

    Care to explain

WASHINGTON — Twenty million or so more people have health insurance now than they did before Obamacare, and yet the American health care system is on track to spend $2.6 trillion less from 2014 to 2019 than before the Affordable Care Act became law.

That’s right — $2.6 trillion, which is equivalent to about 15 percent of U.S. gross domestic product. That’s the conclusion researchers at the Urban Institute came to when comparing health care spending projections made in 2010 before Congress passed the ACA, and projections made later that year after President Barack Obama enacted the statute, with more recent findings.

In other words, more Americans have health coverage and greater access to medical care — and they’re getting it — but the country as a whole is spending less money than expected, and will continue doing so for at least the next several years.

Prior to the ACA, the actuaries predicted U.S. health expenditures would total $23.2 trillion between 2014 and 2019. After Obamacare became law, the office revised that projection to $23.7 trillion, reflecting the hundreds of billions of dollars needed to pay for the Affordable Care Act’s expansion of government-subsidized health coverage. Last year, the actuaries further revised the total to $21.1 trillion.

Remember, the dual goals of the ACA were to insure more people and slow the amount of GDP the US was spending on healthcare.

I just want to know why so many medical services and medications cost a small fortune. Why can't we afford medical care like we can afford so much else in life?

That version of it sounds much more reasonable. I wonder where it all went wrong?

    Here should be the law;

Either you buy insurance from a certified private company

    or

You pay a $5,000 fine every year.

I promise you the moochers will start buying insurance.

That question is better directed at a conservative.

Poor people who could least afford the cost of premiums are subsidized. Surely we don't have to go over the fundamental points of the ACA again.

I expect it goes well beyond conservative or liberal, actually, since it's a long-running economic issue.

    And yet.

Poll: Voters oppose straight Obamacare repeal

See the GOP's spectacular failure to actually repeal the ACA earlier this year. Public opinion was massively, massively against them on that.

Don't let the FACT of tens of millions of Americans uninsured, under-insured or going bankrupt paying huge premiums for horrible policies get in the way of your Obama rep rally.

    Greed and collusion.

The so-called Affordable Care Act was written BY corrupt corporate interests, FOR corrupt corporate interests.

    It's a criminal mess.

We need affordable Medicare for ALL.

The subsidies are not remotely sufficient; tens of millions remain uninsured, under-insured or are going bankrupt paying for horrible policies.

The ACA is a criminal joke.

Yeah, I expect it was indeed shaped too much by the industry for its own benefit. Government in this country is increasingly the slave and servant of our corporations. Not good for the rest of us.

The ACA improved the situation you're talking about.

Obamacare is helping patients get to the doctor and pay their medical bills, new report finds

Not to put too fine a point to it, but the same even more applies to the recent tax bill. At least the ACA went thru regular order.
But I totally agree that the american healthcare system might be the very best at the top, but its the most expensive by a long shot and far from universal for all that dough. Single payer makes sense in every other industrial nation and I can't for the life of me understand why it doesn't make sense in America.

And your solution would be to take healthcare insurance away from another 20 million?
