You think farm produced 'pretend wild' is better than farm produced 'non-pretend wild'? You hippy! Shooting doves? Hope you were wearing khaki!
You sure love to twist words, No pretend anything in this case, the farm lost many fowl that would skip out, preferring the wild open spaces, a feral chicken weighs about 1 kilo, no Khakis, I used to dye whites to drab brown and green... Feral chickens are derived from domestic chickens who have returned to the wild. Like the red junglefowl, feral chickens will take flight and roost in tall trees and bushes in order to avoid predators at night. Wikipedia
I used a single barrel 16 gauge shotgun mostly and still managed a fast second shot. Walked at least 20 miles, no roads....
Is or was there a point to that comment ? Or was it merely a bromide ? Because I have built some very nice guns, very complicated, lots of difficult to obtain parts, once finished; a joy to operate.
I started shooting 50 years ago. 45 years ago I started shooting competitively. I shot in several world and Olympic trials, world championships, national championships, regional, state and collegiate championships. Hundreds of state, county and local events. represented 3 different gun dealers, a Title II manufacturer (Machine guns) police agencies, federal LE agencies and I still shoot at least 2-3 times a week and i have NEVER ever met anyone who has a "gun fetishist" or seen anyone with gun fetish so is this something anti gun advocates dream up to conceal their politically driven hatred of gun owners?
Yes, they like finding words that create impugning images of gun owners that often remind me of those the Nazis used in the 30’s to depict Jews, in their case conjuring images of Jews looking like rats. Obama tried similar tactics when campaigning in Pennsylvania which ultimately galvanized voters to backlash when Hillary ran. Funny, antis use sexual images associated with guns and gun owners far more than any gun rights advocate I know. Gun Control photo from UK Daily Mail You are an old fart like me. I bet I could have given you a run at 5-6 years old. I am guessing they didn’t have them here, but in the EU, when we traveled about, there were often festivals we’d encounter that had gun booths, usually with old .22 pump gallery Winchester (I think) guns shooting shorts where I was deadly against the ceramic pipe targets. Rather than all the other carney games, I spent all my begged change at the booths. Where I encountered the few booths that had guns with sights bent by years of abuse, I was able to quickly figure the hold even then. I have never seen comparable her with the old gallery guns...just the tethered gas fed smith bore B.B. guns. When I got much older ( I was allowed to use my Da’s, to large, J.C. Higgins (Mossberg I think) tub fed .22 for rabbits when I didn’t take the ferret rabbit hunting hunting...I’d get an allotment of 10 .22 shorts and have to have a rabbit for each expended round or look my Da in the eyes bit of explaining. BTW, if you’ve never seen ferreting for rabbits, there are a couple videos on you tube. That method was far more productive on Divis mtn near me than using a gun anywhere I have hunted rabbits.
Double plus good ! I enjoyed the .22 booths at Coney Island in my teens, before they were banned...... Ever so much fun, Mossberg 62, semiautos, I do not know what ammo, I think there was a U stamp on the brass IIRC, UMC cartridge.... Those Gallaries are easy to make, if you want one.. And have the space......
Well, New York City, one sad day, it was: Closed: By Order of N.Y.P.D. Oh, can't have that said some over bearing City Counsil Politician...... One day I was shooting and some blokes started to mock me, I was very young and thin, then they realized, I was holding a loaded firearm..... While I never would have thought of harming them, it was comical to see the change in them towards me......
