https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entr...df5e4b0e56300701436?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009 The last GOP shutdown in 2013 cost 24 billion That's what Trump says his wall would cost Oh and why hasn't the GOP Congress appropriated the money for that wall anyway? WTF
There is no cost for Trump's shutdown. If you're concerned about cost of the government shutdown, you should focus on Schumer's Shutdown.
Trump refused numerous deal offered including money for his border wall And Republicans could use reconciliation IF they could get all of their members to vote for it...which they can't do.
How does Trump feel about shutdowns? As recently as last May, Trump seemed to relish a spending fight with Democrats. "Our country needs a good 'shutdown' in September to fix mess!" he tweeted, after reaching a compromise with Democrats to avoid a filibuster over a spending deal. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders explained what he meant this week: "He said it would be good politics. Must have killed him to wait this long to shut the government down huh?
They are trying to pass a continuing resolution. Reconciliation is a process involved with passing a Congressional Budget resolution. They are not trying to do that. Schumer crammed in DACA to the House approved bill, and is trying to hold the government hostage. He will fail. Not a good idea to show the nation 800,000 illegal aliens are holding the Nation hostage. Bad optics.
There was NO offer to pay for the wall. What was offered was NOT paying for the wall. Specifically, Schumer's offer was that 90% of the wall would NOT be paid for wanting the President to agree to NOT building the wall.
Americans really arent nearly as important as illegals. Just look at all those potential voters. The violent alt left needs those new voters to replace the ones they are driving away with their policies.
One way to test your theory. Suggest that any amnesty deal include a provision that anyone who seeks legal status through an amnesty program forfeits the right to vote. The true objective will be revealed by the responses you get from the expected forces.
Trump has refused to put the Mexican citizens needs over US citizen needs, as he should. Let Democrats continue to represent Mexico. Shut it down until they stop. Meanwhile, Trump should start deporting DACA members until that happens.
Only citizens have the right to vote. Im in favor of an amnesty program that affords no path to citizenship for all illegals, not just DACA. Part one of that means actually securing the border though. Trumps wall in urban areas and something physically less substantial in rural areas, but a dozen or so high flying drones to identify and track people crossing would help. As soon as a c130 is full, send them all to Mexico city and into the hands of mexican authorities. Part 2. Kick out everyone with a felony conviction. No appeals process, no deferments. If you are an illegal, even a DUI 20 years ago gets you kicked out. Part 3. All official documents, outside of ports of entry, are in english. People unwilling to learn english arent looking to become Americans anyways so no need to keep them here.
Everybody losses with this one. Trump could have left DACA in place until Congress had a replacement. Congress could have made a clean appropriation bill for the wall, but neither Republicans or Democrats wanted their name to appear on that bill. Dems could have waited till the current budget was passed, but Republicans didn’t have enough support from their own party to pass it, and meanwhile thousands would have lost their DACA protection. S**t show all the way around.
Schumer is president? When did that happen? Let me guess, the Democrats are also in control of both houses of Congress too, right?
My calendar says that CHIP funding expired back in October but the Republicans waited to bring it up as a hostage. So knowing that the Republicans are willing to allow kids to die to use a bargaining CHIP, do you really think the American People should trust the GOP to meet that March deadline for DACA even though most people, including Republicans support it?
Lolz this is to Trumps benefit. At the state of the union he will bring it up. Dems will hiss and spit
Well, the thread is about Trump's failed leadership in a time of crisis. In fact, it's about not just Trump's failed leadership, but his deliberate attempt to ensure nothing gets done. "Our country needs a good shutdown to fix the mess!" ~Donald Trump
Yeah? My examination of the federal budget doesn't show a line item for funding Mexican citizens. What line is that on again?
Well, first you're going need to be credible if you want to discuss something. The line you posted related to a tweet the President made last May. Why try to sell as something he just tweeted? Second, The House CR bill provided funding for CHIP and just about everything else Dems asked for. Third, Schumer added the DACA issue to the Senate Bill and refused to add in anything regarding border security when doing so. Obviously, that is unacceptable on many levels. The President attempted to address DACA last week, but Durbin destroyed that attempt, proving the Dems have no desire to resolve the issue. Added up, we now have Schumer's Shutdown. I love how the radicals in the alt-left are now trying to blame that factual reference on Russian Bots. So, anything else to discuss?
