Than they need to come up with a deal he won't refuse. It's his job to refuse feels he thinks are bad. It will have to be a compromise.
Again the title of the thread is a lie. It is all on Schumer and the democrats in the Senate. President Trump does NOT have a vote in the Senate.
The reason there are only 800,000 of them now is because the other 3.2 million invalidated themselves by committing crimes that had them removed from the program. Of course, that 3.2 million criminal young men and women are still here in MS-13 and other street gangs.
Or maybe the Republicans could've renewed the program instead of using it as a cynical bargaining chip. Oh... that's right. The right-wing only cares about kids once they've left the womb. After that, they're on their own.
It's starting to seem like the Democrats need to start negotiating with President Miller instead of that guy who likes to play President on TV.
Huff-Left-Post would blame the weather on Trump. Credibility- Zero. People who believe them... likewise. This situation reminds me of an event long ago, where my company did some contract construction work for some people. When we were done, they said "Now, if you will just mow the lawn for us, we'll pay you." In this case, it's give amnesty to the illegals or we will not allow the government to operate. It's called extortion. It's a crime.
Perhaps you're right. I didn't look at it that way and I don't think most did. But a good valid point.
So we're going to see/ Dems have agreed to fund the government until Feb 8. That gives the Republicans plenty of time to renew DACA (which expires in weeks) between now and then. DACA has over 80% approval from the general population...McConnell has come out and supported it. Ryan has come out in support of it.Trump has said HE supports it (at various times). Republicans claim it does't belong in the funding bill. Fine. They have three weeks to see if they can do anything and keep their word. My guess is they'll do nothing Wanna know why? Because the Alt Right (remember them from Charlottesville?) is dead set against it and right know that bigoted agenda is driving the Republican Party
It cost the Democrats prestige and respectability by putting illegal aliens above American citizens and then blinking.
Funny, I haven't met a person yet who approves of leaving daca intact or offering amnesty. Since I have occasion to talk with people all over the country, that would make that number hard to buy- Unless of course, you are asking illegal immigrants what they think. Nor have I met one that is bigoted any more than you are, or believes the crap about white supremacy and blah-blah-blah. Socialist, leftist propaganda that non-thinkers pick up like undisciplined children in order to rebel against common sense. And- it doesn't belong in the funding bill. Our government has a nasty habit of including things that are totally unrelated in critical bills when they would never pass on their own. That way they can say "I really didn't want to vote for that but the funding bill was so critical I had no choice...." Politicians are all interested in doing what's right for America. Problem is, that interest is so far down the priority list they never get around to it- but they will grease wheels and goats or anything they have to to get votes while remaining unaccountable for what they do. Except to let the item stand alone- which they never do.
There's no there there, so of course it won't get done. Let's be honest for a second. You don't care about illegals, I don't care about illegals, and nobody but illegals care about illegals. The only thing you do care about is talking smack about Trump. That's all the democrats care about, it's all progressives care about, it's all the swamp rats care about, and it's what illegals care about. At the end of the day, they'll get deported come the end of DACA, and well... don't worry. I'm sure you'll think of something else to complain about.
