The nativists can argue all they want, but the deportation does not automatically make citizen children "go into the system."
I need you to read very carefully. Ready.......THE CHILD IS NOT REQUIRED TO LEAVE WITH THE PARENTS. IT IS UP TO THE PARENTS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE CHILD. As it has been for millions of years before man when there was only the animals; kids (offspring) are directly effected by the decisions that the parents make.
Good to see RDW backing down a bit: yes, a child who remains in the US does not automatically go into the system.
Your reasons aren't valid. We are treating them no differently than we do thousands of Citizen families. The blame for breaking up said families lies squarely with the people breaking the law. The law is the law, it doesn't matter how you try and minimize it. http://www.alllaw.com/articles/nolo/us-immigration/crime-enter-illegally.html As to your "misdemeanor" attempt, yes people sometimes do go to jail for them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misdemeanor Sorry Rahl, Illegal Alien families don't deserve special treatment.
No misdemeanors are not normally handled that way. Those are MAX punishments. The alt right nativists need to study more.
Thought experiment: suppose a family travels from Chechnya, that breeding ground of terrorism, and claims, and is granted, asylum in the US. The male children of this Muslim family of new American citizens have no loyalty to the country, indeed hate it ferociously. But they do have US passports and are legally citizens. On the other hand, someone is brought, illegally, to the US as a two-year old. They grow up here, speak only English, play baseball, go to a Christian church, have friends among all races, love the country, plan to volunteer for the Marine Corps. If the Law says, give a university scholarship to the first one, and deport the second one, then I say "the law is a ass — a idiot."
already shown why this isn't a valid comparison. not minimizing anything. Trying to figure out a solution. Your comparison is not valid. nor did I suggest they did.
Happens all the time when Americans are arrested for various crimes! So if the U.S. can say "Sorry kids, **** you" to American children I don't see the problem doing the same to Mexican children *Shrugs*
again, we don't throw parents in jail for a misdemeanor, which is what illegal entry is. So the comparison isn't valid.
No, you claiming "no" isn't showing anything. Unless your solution also favors allowing American families to be reunited with prison release, you're simply looking to give a special treatment to Non Citizens families that you don't give our own. Trying to find a "solution" that goes around the law that everyone else is living under is suggesting so.
Sure we do Rahl, depending on the type of misdemeanor. https://thelawdictionary.org/article/will-i-go-to-jail-for-a-misdemeanor/
Ahhhh but we do deport them, so what's your point? Both end up with separation from the family so why not protect those children by curbing those that risk deportation and making it less likely for them to attempt a life of living in the shadows!
Then again you are clearly not an authority on the subject either Your insistence of being right all time in this case makes you ignorant of the law! How would you like to live, or better yet put your children at risk knowing that a simple DUI could end everything? I know I wouldn't choose that sort of life for mine, then again you and I differ on many matters!
Well in a way you certainly aren't offering a solution to tightening them, but championing how well this country is/has protected those that defied out boarders!
When illegal immigration has no consequences -- and in fact can be seen as having rewards, in the form of anchor babies -- and you support that -- then you'd might as well be arguing in favor of open borders. ButterBalls, you and I were typing at nearly the same time, but seem to be of the same mind.
WKA was born to parents who were here LEGALLY. WKA does not address ILLEGAL immigrants having babies here.
I've offered a solution. You will never be able to stop illegals from getting into the country. The only option we have is make them not want to. Mandatory everify for every single employee of every single business in the US. Mandatory prison sentence for any employer caught employing illegals.
Ok, now you're just trolling. Of course it does. You are worried about what will happen to the children if the parents are deported, and you have been told this answer multiple times. Just this once I repeat it for you......the kids can be put up for adoption, they can be given to a legal US citizen family member to raise here in the US, and the least desirable outcome is in the system. Of course the parents could just take them back with them to their country of origin. nor does this.[/QUOTE] With this I'm just trying to teach you that there are rules and that if people break the rules there are consequences, and yes those consequences can effect the life of a child. Of course if you don't know this at this point in your life I'm probably wasting my time.
Read the ruling. Justice Grey sites british common law, specifically lord calvins case. Anyone born on US soil is a US citizen, except for diplomats and foreign invading armies. A new amendment is required to change that.
Again, this doesn't address the problem. It forces the cost onto tax payers. the children didn't break the rules. why do they have to pay for it, and why do tax payers have to pay for them?
