So when they spend all the money within a couple of days, none of that on food, you'll just keep giving them more? How much is enough?

Tell me why I should give a **** given the lack of credibility you, the right in general, and Trump voters have when it comes to -anything tax return related.-

Again, you are spewing opinion and it is not supported by facts. Plenty of folks use the EITC returns to pay back bills, medical bills, etc. The vast majority of americans are as responsible as they can be - you want to punish the vast majority due to the underwhelming idiocy of a paltry few.

Since you gave an anecdote - I have an aunt and an uncle, both are medically mentally retarded, the uncle is Asperger's. They are functional enough to work, my uncle at lowe's, my aunt at a local hospital network cleaning.

COMBINED the two make less in an hour then I do. Combined, in a year, they make far less then I do.

They need medical assistance, as well as food stamps, because rent is over 50% of their income. It's not so simple as "pick up and leave" because they -need- family local to assist them.

Now, tell me, why should they be cut off, all because some idiot college kid buys a dirt bike?

Why should they starve to death because their rent is so god awful high?

It's sickening, isn't it? These people just want to watch other people die because they want to dictate morality and responsibility.

What about the responsibility a society owes to its citizens? This kleptocapitalist society has constructed an impossibly flawed system and we the people OWE IT to our fellow americans to put THEM FIRST, before the welfare of Israel or Pakistan or any other country.

Combined, they should be making at least $20/hour, so I call BS. Money would be tight but they'd have to manage. This also has nothing to do with people wasting opportunities to better themselves with education and skills. Poor attempt at rebuttal on your part.

Bullshit. These are Americans that need help. I've seen how tight their money is, and it is less then $20 an hour. Poor rebuttal? Your argument is useless.

If you're going to dismiss my anecdote, then I thoroughly dismiss yours, because it is a worthless and useless consideration.

The vast vast majority of americans are decent, hard working people. The vast majority are proud, and don't -want- the help but -need- it.

And people like you advocate for them to have a harder life, claim to be "America first" while shipping your tax dollars off to Israel, Pakistan, NK, etc.

It's you who has nothing. You aren't even consistent, and you know it.

America first? Let's let americans starve while we arm Israelis.

Making America Great Again? Let's get rid of CHIP so we can put some more carriers over there to defend Japan.

    Pathetic.

How far have you gone off topic with Japan, Israelis, and Chip?

I'll ask again, (and this is ON topic), if these recipients blow the money right away, how much more will you give them until they buy food with it?

They get food stamps now, so they won't starve. If you replace food stamps with money, they will starve. So you are the one advocating for this.

The US experimented with Basic Income between 1968 and 1982.

Basic Income was tested in the US in the following locations at the times specified:
    1. The New Jersey Income Maintenance Experiment 1968-1972
    2. The Rural Income Maintenance Experiment 1970-1972
    3. The Gary, Indiana Experiment 1971-1974
    4. The Seattle Income Maintenance Experiment 1972-1982
    5. The Denver Income Maintenance Experiment 1972-1982
It's not the "only answer." People can emigrate to other foreign States where they can work.

The Standard of Living varies wildly across America's 3,000+ economies.

What you want is totally irresponsible.

Food Stamps force parents to buy food for their children. Giving cash to parents in lieu of Food Stamps will guarantee that many children are neglected and not fed.

I've already answered that question. I bring up Israel, Chip and Japan because you voted for Trump. Trump's run was "America first." You are flying in the face of "America" first by continuing to fund Israel, Pakistan, Japan, etc, while advocating letting Americans die of starvation because reasons.

I cannot believe I have to explain this to you.

I'll answer, again. PLEASE. Try to read along. I know it's hard with partisan blinders on and **** clogging your ears, but please, please try to read along.

Kleptocapitalist economies create inherent inequality, which is a foreseen, unavoidable outcome of even standard capitalist economies. Given that capitalism has created the richest nation on earth - the USA - and given that inherent inequality is an unavoidable outcome of this system, if we as a nation embrace this system we have a moral obligation and ethical duty to ensure those who are left by the wayside - and contrary to your belief, there are those LEFT by the wayside, because of capitalism - are supported.

We can't get dislodged from this responsibility because a select few abuse a system. The majority do not. No, not majority, supermajority, do not abuse the system.

Everyone deserves a basic sense of economic stability given the inherent outcomes of capitalism, which we -already knew existed when we implemented it.- In a way it is erroneous and evil to deny a social safety net for these people simply because our system is desirable to other people.

To directly answer your question - if I provide the means for someone to support themselves and they misuse those means that is on them (personal responsibility.)

If they don't use the basic income to support themselves, then they need to rely on the charity of others.

But that, apparently, is too humane for you. You'd rather they starve to death.

I really don't think you can logically continue this discussion, Louisiana.

So if they don't have any personal responsibility, you're advocating to just let them starve. We agree on that matter.

Only if you believe that the only industry we will ever have already exists. For instance, in 1990 no one would have guessed that "SEO specialist" would be a career choice.

Don't even pretend to contemplate that we are on the same level. Your endorsement of social barbarism for political points is so far beyond me that I cannot even fathom the depths to which I'd have to go to advocate what you advocate.

AI and automation will practically replace 99% of industry manufacturing, as well as PLENTY of health services jobs.

A mandatory minimum income for all people will absolutely be required given the function of the essential death cult the right would become in their obsessive "personal responsibility crusade"

Once things are fully automated - farming, food services, warehousing, shipping and receiving, manufacturing - what's left?

They even have robots that sweep and clean.

The lemmings are being replaced by subservient AI minions that don't dissent or ask for higher wages.

You're acting like THAT can't be (and isn't already) automated. Do you think HUMANS are building those robots that get installed on assembly lines? No, it's robots building those robots on THEIR assembly line. Even on the programing side, only the most complex programs (aka AI) are managed by humans, programs like those that play the stock markets or sort thu YouTube videos are programed by other programs.
