I've heard some women say "If men had to be pregnant, the entire political force against abortion would fall apart tomorrow", or "making abortion illegal is unfair because it only affects women". I have an idea. All women who want to be able to get abortions should have to put their names on a special list. In the event of war, they'd be eligible for the draft, just like men, to potentially be required to fight in combat military roles. If you really want equality between the sexes.
And any men that want children must take a drug that could possibly kill or injure them. Fair is fair
Thank you for once more making t clear that Anti-Choicers are only interested in punishing pregnant women. And you might want to note that these conservatives are usually AGAINST women in combat....talk to them about sexual equality... Should anyone else who wants a legal medical procedure have to put their name on a list to be drafted? You DO mean you want equality , don't you ?
Wouldn't that only be putting women who have abortions on equal footing with men? Maybe even, when a war has broken out and there's a pregnant woman who's thinking about getting abortion, tell her she has two options: carry a pregnancy or fight in the war. If she wants to be a feminine woman and do her female duties, fine. If she'd rather take on the duties of a man, okay then. Let's see her willing to take those duties. Men have to sacrifice their lives in the name of protecting the lives of others, why shouldn't women?
Women should be on equal footing with men..... you trying so hard to connect abortion to everything else under the sun is only a sign that you have no argument... This thread is as silly as your last one...and that fell flat, too Not being able to answer pertinent questions s also a sign you have no real argument. Should anyone else who wants a legal medical procedure have to put their name on a list to be drafted?
"Female DUTIES" ?!! LOL! Who decided what those are? You??!!! Your complete and total lack of knowledge of what women have done throughout history is quite evident. They do and have....again... Your complete and total lack of knowledge of what women have done throughout history is quite evident. ...when has a man ever protected his fetus? NEVER, he never had one....so women are still one up on men
Ok, fine. It isn't like the draft means anything anymore. In fact I support adding women to the draft. We need all the man or woman power we can get during a war.
Why don't we just get rid of your abortion linkage and discuss whether women should register for the draft just like the men? this thread might be worth more.
Except this is the Abortion Forum........and as long as there are those who don't want women in combat why should women be drafted ?....for that matter I don't think ANYONE should be drafted... Now, back to the topic......whatever the blank it is...I think it's the usual crap about punishing women for getting pregnant....a favorite topic with Anti-Choicers...
If some of these women get drafted and made to serve in an all-female regiment, it might help prevent them from getting ANOTHER abortion.
This thread is more of a prolife reach than most around here, and that is a mighty low threshold to meet or beat.
WTF are you talking about? HOW does being drafted and being in an all female regiment keep a woman from wanting an abortion? WHAT!???? And WHY should it? Did you know abortion is legal??? You don't appear to know that !! Maybe a person shouldn't comment on things that they have no basic knowledge of..... And, as usual , you couldn't address the post of mine you quoted. You ignored the INCONVENIENT : """ and as long as there are those who don't want women in combat why should women be drafted ?"""
How about no? The last thing we need is more bureaucracy. Sweden has that exact same system when it comes to rental apartments and guess what? It takes years to get a stupid apartment in sh*thole with 200k inhabitants, an apartment that has not been restored since the 1950's because of rent regulations. DDR did it to cars and Soviets to bread. Same effect everytime. The solution here is to allow anyone who wants to die in war to do so and any woman who wants to have an abortion to have one. Absolish conscription and push government out of the abortion clinic.
I would have no issue with that if it weren't for the biological disadvantage women have as far as physical strength. Though ideally I'd rather have all females be eligible for a draft regardless of whether or not they are a mother. After pregnancy of course, though. I think genetic modification would be required to put women on equal footing as far as strength. An increase in muscle density could also, for the most part, allow the feminine shape to remain while providing strength equal to a male. A neurological change as well because most other women are simply too far in mentality from their male counterparts.
I have a better way for sex equality: Require the father to reimburse her for the monetary cost of the abortion, since she took the physical risks.
Guess you chose to ignore the Olympics...or the history of women ....or the history of women in combat.... Now, swear it 's true : EVERY man is stronger than EVERY woman and EVERY man in the military is exactly as strong as EVERY other man in the military. You: ""A neurological change as well because most other women are simply too far in mentality from their male counterparts""" Yes, MEN should have a neurological change so they're closer in mentality to women ...and maybe we'd have less need for the military....or wars would end more quickly with the minds of women determining strategy...
Just hearing a few people say stupid things isn’t a good basis for policy. After all, I heard this one idiot say women who want to have abortions should have to sign up for the draft. First you’d have to convince all the people (mostly men) who don’t think women should be allowed to have combat military roles at all.
I know there are some people, conscientious objectors they are called, who don't believe in taking another human life under any circumstances. That obviously isn't the case for women getting abortions.
Gee, ya think! That obviously isn't the case for a country at war either... That obviously isn't the case with the military..
I'm sorry FoxHastings. I having trouble understanding your post. Could you please explain what you mean about my previous post?
