Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamines and other Drugs are illegal, yet easy to obtain. No stores sell these drugs, many Military weapons, F.B.I. firearms and other L.E. firearms end up missing or lost, left in bathrooms or vehicles and end up in Criminals hands. So much for your theory.
if you truly believe in Personal Freedom, you would believe in the right of all legal residents of the USA to be armed. That includes citizens, ex-felons, Permanent Residents, and folks on a 3-day vacation from Morocco. Do you?
Folks on Holliday have Tourist Visa and are not residents nor qualify as such, the 90 day requirement. Once convicted, Felon status until relieved of disability and expunged, remains a permanent status.
In most cases, No. Most Criminals start early in youth with petty crimes and graduate to more serious crimes and are prohibited from Firearms as early as their early Teens before they are old enough to buy them and are prohibited from using firearms anyway, a Probation violation.
The difference that is made, is the fact that it has been asserted by yourself, numerous times throughout this discussion, that the Wickward ruling authorized the federal government to regulate and restrict firearms on the basis of regulating interstate commerce. Lopez stated in absolute, unequivocal terms, that this is not the case, and the entire basis of the position of yourself is factually incorrect. That is why care should be demonstrated on the basis of yourself. Your entire position was factually incorrect from the very beginning, despite your denials to the contrary. The federal government simply cannot use Wickward as a basis for restricting firearms.
A form, and more than one trillion dollars being allotted to the annual budget of the ATF each year, just so they can hire enough field agents to try and make enforcement of paperwork requirements a possibility.
It has already been proven through simple facts that it is not. Due to the currently workforce of the ATF, the supposed form will never actually be enforced. The public will simply ignore the requirement, as there are too few agents to insure it is actually being complied with. To make sure the paperwork requirement is being complied with, it will require the annual budget of the ATF to be increased by more than a trillion dollars, and it will have to be allotted annually.
Which is not relevant to the fact that the argument presented by yourself was proven as being wrong. With regard to the subject of firearms and their regulation, the Wickard decision is a dead issue. The assertion by yourself was factually incorrect.
Canada dropped all long gun registration requirements as too costly. https://www.forbes.com/sites/danielfisher/2013/01/22/canada-tried-registering-long-guns-and-gave-up/
And what would that accomplish ? Please explain. Police, Federal Agents, Military, lose, stolen, Registered firearms everyday. That Registration has not helped.
It would help prevent straw sales. Canada and most of europe do it for a reason....and its not that they love paperwork
How does Registration prevent a straw sale ? A Woman buys a handgun, and her Boyfriend steals it, and moves out, and kills a few people, was that a straw sale ? Buying a gun for a Felon or other prohibited person(s) is illegal, yet many idiots do just that. So explain please how Registration prevents straw sales, when it does not stop Registered Police Guns from ending up in Criminals hands.
Because if you sell a gun to a prohibited person and that person uses it in a crime an investigation will be done. Again most of the developed world has figured this out
And that accomplished nothing, crimes are still commited. You keep talking about Registration of firearms as if it accomplishes anything of merrit. A prohibited person in possession of a firearm(s) is a Felony no matter how or when they obtained it, prosecution of all crimes related to that Felon's possesion and use of firearm(s), is most important, not how they obtained them. Prosecution of premeditated or knowledgeable strawman sales ( You know the buyer is a Felon ) and gun traffickers is also important.
so the natural right to self-defense is negated if you spend less than 90 days in the USA??? LOL!!!! who knew there was a 90-day limit on human rights. so basically felony conviction is a life sentence?
Look, have Registration if it warms the croggles of your heart, it just does not accomplish anything, I saw that all throughout my time in Police Work. A Man bops a Police Officer on the head and takes the Officer's Registered gun, and commits crimes with said gun, how does Registration help ? In no way, it did not stop any of those crimes committed by that Felon.
