Question: If "headscarfed" YouTube HQ shooter is a Muslim, do we blame Islam, or guns? Me, I'd say both, but I'd need to know which verses of the Qur'an she was following. Your opinion? Would we eliminate the Qur'an, or eliminate the 2nd Amendment?
Its never the Muslims fault, we need to empathize with them. If they shoot or blow people up its only because we made them do it. In fact, they are the only ones who should own guns because they have to protect themselves from the evil white americans.
every single time one of these happens some random dipshit on 4chan suggests that islam is related and it starts getting relayed in the rumor mill as if it were gospel in a few hours we'll probably know more. if the shooter is actually a woman, that's an unusual change from the norm, and i wonder if that makes her more or less likely to kill herself before she can be arrested
The Bible is far more cruel and violent than the Qur'an is (not THAT'S cruel and violent!) Number of Cruel or Violent Passages: Bible 1321 Quran 532 http://dwindlinginunbelief.blogspot.com/2006/06/which-is-more-violent-bible-or-quran.html
One REASON that many people suspect it's always a Muslim is because of the 100+ Jihad-enabling verses in the Qur'an - which is from their "all-knowing" god, not just a gentle suggestion, etc.: http://www.answering-islam.org/Quran/Themes/jihad_passages.html
Doesn't matter who gets blamed so long as everyone blames someone else so that we all get to avoid any/all responsibility for this society and it can continue on just as it is.
This is exactly what "thoughts and prayers" are meant to do, as well. Turn the problem over to a non-existent invisible man in the sky - let's them feel good, but never solves the problem.
But because of Qur'an 8:39 (which is from GOD, no less, they feel!), killing us is encouraged in Islam: "And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world]....." - Q8:39 (Mohsin Khan)
yeah, the abrahamic faiths have some vile **** in their holy texts. fortunately, most people interpret their holy texts creatively so they can avoid having to believe horrible things.
In other words they don't assume that the books mean what they say and say what they mean, they assume that their "god" can't be direct, he has to talk in circles and not really say what he means. Not very "god-like", for sure.
Yeah, that's all religions. Religion is how people convince themselves what they already believe comes from God.
