That's a foreign policy goal for the past x decades. It's not for lack of trying. When will the West learn to stay out of the Middle East.
We can finally blow everything up until they relinquish their national central bank and agree to participate in the global central bank system. The last holdouts to opt out of the global centralized banking system as of a few decades ago were Iraq, Iran, Libya, Afghanistan, North Korea (sortof), Syria and iirc Jordan. Iran, Syria and NK are all thats left. And Russia has been moving to oust the system and become independent as well. I don't think I need to spell out the pattern here...
Foreign policy does not include solving issues between Saudi Arabia and Iran - completely the opposite. Foreign Policy does include staying in the Middle East playing Middle Eastern countries against each other
Iran gets stronger. Which is a bad thing no matter what. An Iran opposed to U.S. interests must be kept as weak and isolated as possible.
Same strategy as Britain in the 19th century: don't let anyone get too powerful, maintain the balance of power, make sure they don't align.
The British also had the policy of maintaining a navy strong enough to defeat the 2nd and 3rd most powerful navies combined. The U.S. should adopt a similar policy.

Actually, Iran has allowed inspections when questions arise. They have categorically ruled out American inspectors of military sites and can you blame them?
You already have that policy. As far as Navies go you are in another league entirely. Assuming it's possible to only have a Naval war you'd have a fair shot vs every other nation on Earth allied together.
Should adopt? They already have more powerful navies, armies and airforce than the rest of the most powerful countries combined
No. The United States has a larger military budget than most nations combined. But. The overwhelming bulk of the U.S. military budget is spent on quality of life measures not weapons systems
IAEA inspectors say Iran is in compliance. These are the same professional that certified Iraq had no WMD. It's true the multinational agreement does not include Iranian military bases. This might be part of the deal that can be renegotiated. People that believe bombing Iran is a good idea are warmongers, nothing else. It would be a totally dumbasz thing to do. What would it gain? Do we really want to stumble into the Middle East again and fire up the region? Evidently some think so.
We can inspect anywhere except a couple of military bases. Even those we can inspect going through proper channels. We can inspect and monitor all of their uranium. If some goes missing we can raise concerns.
What "we get" is to be able to drop the charade that Iran is in good standing with the international community. Doing so, enables us to begin the process of attempting to economically isolate Iran via sanctions (ala North Korea), and utilize that tactic to economically limit their ability to create and finance havoc in the region, as well as to economically hinder their ability to develop the remainder of their nuclear program. These actions are taken in the hope that an actual war can be avoided. What we dont want to do is to sit idly by until they actually have nuclear capability, which is what the current agreement accomplishes. At that point, the situation would be akin to North Korea, which is precisely what we do not want to happen. The last thing that we want is an economically healthy Iran, replete with nuclear weapons. Do not forget that Israel under no circumstances can or will allow Iran to actually have a nuke. Iran having a nuclear weapon automatically means war, which is all the more justification that we need to take evasive action against that happening. What is in place right now accomplishes no such thing.
Please clarify "when questions arise". If an inspector wants to go somewhere.....what is the question? Also please link to information that indicates inspectors are not hampered. My google-fu shows articles about complaints about limitations.
You learn from mistakes and do better the next time. No reason to stop fighting wars just because some things go wrong.
