Further example of how bias and un-American TWITTER is. A Brit { 22 yr.old Charlotte Fien } a Pro-life activist with Down Syndrome was blocked by Twitter for a full day after she posted Pro-Life Material. Whereas this same Twitter " routinely allows pro-abortion users to post anything they want without censorship ". Ironically this same 22 yr.old Pro-Life Activist who " promotes the rights of those with disabilities and also the rights of the unborn, addressed the United Nations in March of 2017 on these very issues. After which she was received with a standing ovation." Keep in mind how Google and Zuckerberg worked hand-in- hand with the Obama Adm. and how coincidental that Barack Obama is The Biggest supporter of Abortion on Demand in the history of America. State Senator Obama was the only Illinois member to vote Nay on banning of the practice of Infanticide. You never learned that from this " corrupted Mainstream Media ". Gee I wonder why.NO I doesn't. Because We the People are being played. Thru Facebook,Google and of course Twitter. Wake Up America !
More Boring Facebook { Schnookbook } news for those who may wanna know what our Government was really up to and how Facebook plays a relevant role in the Social media cover-up of News Exposing Government corruption. As I've stated ... Facebook came into it's own after the Election of Obama in 2009 { likewise Twitter }.But Google is also a major player. The Daily Caller is reporting that on Friday morning it Obtained and Published the recent { turned over to Congress on Thursday night } 300 Missing text messages between FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer and girl Friday Lisa Page. Those 300 text messages are invaluable in understanding how the Obama Adm. In cahoots with the FBI,and CIA { John Brennan } and James Clapper { Director of National Intelligence } Plotted to Frame Donald Trump the candidate and then Donald Trump the President and now mount a Coup to have him removed from office. Facebook BLOCKED Daily Caller Facebook users from reading and sharing those vital Text messages.Much the same way Trayvon Martin Tweets were removed in less than 24 hrs. time.I read those Trayvon tweets in time. They were as raw and misogynistic as it gets. Trayvon also tweeted he wanted to get a pistol.I read about 2 dozen that were up { c/o of The Daily Caller and Breitbart } and it told the whole story. It explained as good as anything in print who the Real Trayvon Martin was. Same thing here.Which is way Facebook was and still IS a vehicle to help one political party while punishing another. That's my gripe. The excuse Facebook Blocked Daily Caller users was typical. That the content was probably Spam. The old Spam excuse. " Our security systems have detected that a lot of people are posting the same content, which could mean that it's spam. " facebook told user's who tried to share the story ... " Please try a different post "
I find it ironic that so many folks are in uproar about this whole Facebook thing. This is the generation that takes pictures of their dinner and posts it online before eating and tags themselves at the particular restaurant and announces how many steps it took them to get there and how many calories they burned via the step counter GPS watch things they wear. Yet somehow folks are concerned with their privacy all of a sudden lol?
Then why Did jewboy Suckersberg have a Privacy policy at Facebook. I know his type { Liberal Democrats } prefer having it both ways. Calling out those they oppose but never allowing themselves to be called out.Which is what Facebook had become. A useful tool for Democrats to call out those they oppose while denying those they oppose any chance to reply or stream their voice.
Facebook, starting in 2016 secretly and gradually removed it's highest tier of Privacy settings.Where a user could still hide individual posts, but the Facebook account itself is now public.Whether a user likes it or not.
I'm not saying it's right that Facebook did what they did. I just find it funny seeing how the very premise of Facebook is the complete opposite of "privacy" yet society got into an uproar about a "privacy breach" via Facebook... Folks, mainly kids and young people, put their entire lives on that thing from the moment they wake up until they fall back asleep that night but are now concerned about privacy issues lol. I guess I may just be salty about the whole thing because I never agreed with the premise of Facebook or any of these other internet blog things or whatever they are called. I feel they are detrimental to society and to those who spend most of their day glued to their cell phones. So the "mean old" part of me is sort of smiling about this whole thing saying "this is what ya'll get". Can't get brainwashed by selective political media or spied on via Facebook if you don't use Facebook and actually put your cell phone down for once.
Regardless of how the Masses feel about " Location data " and the ability for it to be corrupted, there is still a requirement for a Company { especially one that Produces No Product, merely a Service } that takes in Billions to have ethics.Just like a Newspaper can't report things that unfairly or inaccurately paint a false and incorrect picture of a citizen. It's considered Libel.I guess a Facebook user can post libelous things about themselves and their friends, but when outside that sphere they have no right to do so with other Facebook accounts and users. In other words ... What responsibility does Facebook incur for making available a service where no one is accountable. Or only select users.
I agree with you, Facebook should be held accountable for their actions. I guess what I'm saying is basically "are you folks really surprised?". It's the internet age, the number 1 rule of the internet is to not put anything on the internet that you don't want the world to see, regardless of how "private" you think your stuff is. I guess it's just a generational gap thing, I don't really understand the appeal of Facebook and why so many folks have developed an almost sacred connection to that website. I grew up in the era before the internet and things like this so to me and my simple brain the easiest solution to this whole matter or slander/privacy is to just not use Facebook or Twitter or whatever else is out there. Creating an online profile of yourself and posting your life on it is just inviting issues like this in my book. Plus the majority of these folks grew up in the age of the internet, it's common knowledge that rule number 1 of the internet is to not expect anything you put on the internet to actually be private. Even I know better than that...
More silliness by folks who dont have a clue how Facebook works. Thank goodness everyone is not so paranoid. My account allows me to check on my friend in Houston who's fighting cancer, give my 92 yr old stepdad updates on his nieces who live in Tennessee and offer moral support to my old friend who lives in Nova Scotia and recently lost her mom. I could go on and on, but realize Im talking to a brick wall that believes being targeted as a potential buyer of products is the same as having your identity stolen. Cant argue with ignorance.
I don't believe being targeted for solicitation in itself is whats giving some folks pause, it's the way they are doing it that is raising eyebrows. I just recently read about how Facebook tracks what you say on there and can determine that you might be pregnant by the way you are talking and starts advertising baby stuff to you lol. I think stuff like that is what is making some folks upset. Basically Facebook reads your stuff and makes a profile of you and shows you stuff based on your political affiliation or ideologies and advertises things that it thinks you may want. Not really anything new so to speak, the internet has always tracked what you do and advertises stuff to you based on trends. Before it was just based on your browsing history, now they actually read your posts and stuff and that's what has upset some people. It's funny to me because people who use Facebook and post stuff on there seriously believed that Facebook itself wasn't actually going to read your stuff lol? I know full well how Facebook works, it has it's benefits to some extent, however anybody believing that what they post on Facebook is actually "private" is ignorant of how the internet works regardless of how you set up your "privacy settings". Don't want your daughter to receive advertisements for baby diapers on Facebook? Then tell her to stop broadcasting to the world that shes been throwing up every morning for the past week and Huggies won't bother her anymore. It's 2018 and the age of the internet ladies and gentlemen. It's a double edged sword you can't have it both ways. Privacy and Internet don't belong in the same sentence and it's funny/sad that some folks still haven't figured that out yet.
Exactly. Whether its Facebook, Google or Political Forums... you control the amt of personal info you reveal. You can also manipulate the trackers. For example, I recently googled slacks for my dad. Next thing I knew, every site I visited with ads showed me mens slacks. So I googled "flower bouquets" and now I see mostly florist ads. Next I'll try 'beautiful beaches.'
I Get it.No need for curtains or even a door lock. We have already entered the brink of - Fahrenheit 451 -. With shades of - Animal Farm -. where rules in society can change at the drop of a whim.Like how to treat Marriage vs. Gay Marriage.Guess who won that Societal battle. It wasn't the majority of States { California in particular ] Who elected to pass *Prop 8 { ballot initiative } as law. I don't give a hoot what people do in the privacy of their bedroom, but to make me applaud it Or Else ...IS Devils play. * Californians voted the ballot Initiative in effect 52 % vs. 47 %. It eliminated rights of same-sex couples to marry.
Real cutesy eh.Until you start using Google as search engine for important matters.Health matters.Ever notice how once passed ObamaCare implemented ways for ones doctors office to have quick and easy access to one's Medical records and history. Don't forget it was Obama who pulled that kinda crap with using a big city Chicago newspaper to leak { sealed } divorce proceedings on an opponent.Smearing in the process, not much different than what happened to Herman Cain. Or our President { Donald John Trump }. Where John Brennan and James Clapper were quite active as leakers. Then just Lying about.More Obama traits unveiled.
You're absolutely right, dumplin. Once the govt allowed itself to see pics of our colonoscopy, trying to hide anything became fruitless. Might as well lay it all out there and see what happens. I can pretty much assure you... nothing will happen because nobody cares about our boring lives
Way too cavalier for one either s Senior or entering one's senior years.I suppose according to your easy come easy go " let it all hang out " philosophy ... There's no need to worry about Old Folks Home. When it's fairly obvious that at Old Folks Home the Folks are not treated with Kid gloves.More like Little Rascals at the Orphanage.Mush and more mush and maybe some limburger cheese chest rub for that Cold.
Not exactly an easy argument to make. With the sheer untold number of Facebook Schmucks willing to Tell All about THEIR life, no matter the degree of sensitivity. There's a reason Catholics used a Confessional. For the telling of Sins to a Priest in a closed little closet-like room. Which was SO Private it was not allowed in a court of law, no matter if a Murder. That can all be done away with now. With Spy works like Facebook and Twitter it makes it that much easier to use whatever public social networks in an effort to convict someone. Which,if You haven't been paying attention is EXACTLY what has happened.Social Media user accounts to convict users in the court of public opinion.Usually targetting big name Hollywood celebrities.Where all it takes can be one juicy salacious Racist rant on Twitter.
Which once again brings us right back to the very first lesson folks learn about the internet. NOTHING you put on the internet is actually private. If you don't want others to see it, then don't put it on the internet. Employers look you up on social media prior to your job interview to see what type of person you are and if you have any type of nice pictures of yourself playing beer pong or something. The cops can arrest you for picking on somebody via social media. The list goes on. Your social media is YOU, they are not separate anymore. If you said it on Facebook then it's the same as if you said it in real life in the eyes of the law and your employers. So....once again, if you don't want anybody to see something you say or do then don't post it on the internet. If people are still to this day too stubborn to understand that then I have no sympathy for them and the repercussions that follow.
So then a person with a Facebook account no matter the supposed Privacy setting could expect things like Family pics and personal info about dates and times and comments and correspondence to be available to any and all depending on who is manning Facebook accounts on any given day. Which of course happened to our own President with his Twitter account.Somehow it got Delayed and cancelled.Back in early November President Trump had his Twitter account erased { inadvertently deactivated } by some Twitter employee for over 10 minutes. Call it a prank or some near nefarious social media experiment. With around 40 million loyal Trump Twitter followers what could have taken place in the event of a serious National Emergency.Where the President would need his voice, not the Mainstream Media for accuracy.
Yeah pretty much. We can go around in circles all day long about how things SHOULD be, I prefer to cut right to the chase and discuss how things actually ARE. I view the world the way it actually is, not how I think it should be. And here it what IS. Your personal information is not personal once it touches the internet or ANY sort of media outlet connected to the internet in any way. Personal pictures on your cell phone are not private. Your posts are not private, none of it is private and none of it is safe or secure. If you don't want inappropriate pictures of yourself to wind up on the internet then don't take personal pictures of yourself on your cell phone which is connected to the internet. Damn near every day a celebrity gets their phone hacked and their pictures uploaded to the dark web. Or they upload them to some internet storage drive thinking that's secure and they get stolen from there. It's not just celebrities either, there was a huge thing about some dark web forum that was hosting pictures of women from various colleges all over the country that was just shut down recently. Military women got hacked too and shared around the internet. Point is, your privacy does not exist once you connect ANYTHING you have to the internet. There are ways to help make yourself more secure but you are never completely secure. So the best thing to do is just live by the code of if you don't want something of yours to end up on the internet without your permission then don't connect that device to the internet. So to directly answer your question as to could somebody expect their personal stuff to end up leaked without their permission when using Facebook? Yes. And that goes for any other social media site or anything you have in your possession that is connected to the internet.
People are too complacent about this. Or naive, not sure which. I'm perfectly okay with conducting business via the internet (because I have well protected finances/credit etc), but absolutely NOT okay with social media. The only time I've ever dabbled (out of necessity) I used a false name, attached to another false name, attached to a 'burner' IP. I never posted a single photo of a human being, or a location personal to me. I never discussed anything personal about myself or family members (ages, locations, jobs, etc). I was only accessible to those I'd cleared, and they all knew not to use my real name or post photos of me or my family members. Of course, this only works if you're not doing SM for the attention/likes. If you're using SM to grandstand or to collect 90,000 'friends', you deserve everything you get.
For all those Doubting Thomas' out there, here is more firstrate news concerning the Suckersberg and how his Facebook will operate going forward. It Is Political. It Is being used to help an Obama-style hoodwinking of the masses.Like how ObamaCare was debated and passed.Or even Obama's first major bill The Stimulus bill. We know of Suckersberg intentions to invest Billions into a " combination of Artificial Intelligence and tens of thousands of human moderators to keep both fake news and propaganda at bay, especially in elections. " So I,following the lead of maverick Matt Drudge was spot-on the entire time about - Facebook -. It is a sort of Social media extension of Obama's revamped { OFA } or Organizing for Action. The near 10,ooo grassroots groups spread nationwide used to spur-on at the drop of a dime,Protests and political activism. The latest Suckersberg notice is his - Facebook's - intention for his platform to Rank News Organizations based on " Trustworthiness ". Which is in itself a Joke. using as reason { or excuse } his statement " We feel like we have a responsibility to further break down polarization and find common ground ". Yeah right Bub.Like that an a quarter will get one a fine premium cigar or Starbucks large cappucinno.
Just Google-it.Yeah right.Like I've stated... why not just fork over the keys to your home.Yer car.Because Google already has the keys to your Personal computer and laptop and internet connection. Because Silicon Valley has a mission. Not any NASA space mission. But a hidden, nefarious plot to Social Engineer it's way into every facet of yer life.It wants TOTAL data collection. They can't realistically get what's inside yer brain or one's thoughts, but Trust me ... They're working on it. We are just now discovering what technique Silicon Valley has been tinkering around with. It's termed - Speculative Design - and it encompasses use of social media to explore uncomfortable ideas and concepts in order to provoke discussion and debate. " Folks this is not well-intentioned as we see each weeknight on - Tucker Carlson -. This is akin to a bad cartoon. And know it or not, like it or not, agree with it or not ... You are this nefarious cartoon's subjects.
