All voters in the U.S. are not forced into party A or B. There were at least a dozen political parties with Presidential candidates on my ballot in 2016. I voted for one that wasn't either Republican or Democrat.

And that's the way it ought to be.

    Pick a better country.

    1. When you do wrong they should punish you. If it was a felony they should lock you up. This should be based on the behavior of breaking the law, not on quotas.

    2. Religion in the USA has almost no effect. A minister cannot even mention politics from the pulpit for fear a spy hearing the sermon will turn them in.

    3. Jimmy Carter didn't keep up with defense needs and it cost him a second term.

Tell that to the poor voters of Oklahoma (state with the worst ballot access laws). But forget the Presidency as that is just a one man office. What about Congress? Congress should have more political parties. That's where you REALLY need your representation.

    1. You actually think everyone locked up is really guilty?

    2. Lots of people follow religion, sometimes blindly.

    3. We spend a shitton of money on defense spending and smaller portions to everything else.

Agreed, a little world travel gives one a different perspective especially while in the military. The one thing I've found while traveling is the absolutely secure environment we live in here exists in only a few others Israel being one of them. Here if a total stranger is assaulted on the street there is no shortage of Americans who will jump in and help. The same holds true when there's a car crash or some such other emergency some where. Europeans tend to walk away from such things especially in France. America is exceptional because we understand what it means to be an American and we work hard at being Americans.

    1. Most of them, yes.
    2. And that's their right. That's why a lot of the early settlers moved to this continent, to have freedom to choose their own religion.
    3. True, but we also have interests around the world to protect. Our Founding Fathers didn't want to have to have anything but a defensive army/navy. Thomas Jefferson's mind on that was changed by the Barbary Pirates. Security for our trade interests is a global undertaking.

I only talk about my own state. For the House, we only had two parties. For Senate, we had 7 choices.

That's just due to nobody wanting other parties enough in Oklahoma to work for it.

I would if it weren't so easy to list the serious number of things in this country's history and current state of affairs that add to its rap sheet.

USA has one of the worst Human Rights records in the World -- Genocide, Slavery, Wars of 20th century (Korea, Vietnam), massive Incarceration.

Very sad. In USA, 64,000 people per year die from illegal drugs.

Sadly USA has no Welfare State.

Crowder exposes the lefts assumptions and teaches them a thing or two at the same time.

    1. That's why you teach your children to be very careful about who they associate with.

    2. Freedom of religion is an enumerated right in the USA, as well as freedom not to practice religion.

    3. I guess it was Woodrow who took us from beware of standing armies to being the policeman of the world. It's a terrible thing, I've never known the USA to be anything else. Why me? Because that was the law, serve or go to jail.

Ain't that the truth, and it got me where I am today. I don't want to give the deed to my land to the native Americans or be held accountable for those I killed in war.

    It's a hard world.

I would think that the 20 million illegal people, and the millions of people seeking citizenship and asylum might also agree?

Democracy = Everybody votes on every issue and each vote counts

Representative Republic = We vote to allow somebody to vote for us on every issue.

Ok, in reading your post in more detail. You don't really understand how the US works.

Nobody is forced to be in Party A or Party B, and in fact most of the country identifies as "independent", meaning not belonging to one party.

Do you think you have to not love your child when you tell them that they can do better?

It’s moronic to think that you can’t love your country while at the same time asking it to improve it’s behavior.

I was never a Russian and I never became an American.

I am a US citizen since 1990, but I am not an American.

Then I suppose all countries with elected legislatures are representative republics/monarchies. I prefer the term representative democracy. There is of course dictatorships, but that's something else. The only country which is a semi-democracy would be Switzerland.

Oh I know there is no law forcing people to vote one way or the other or to be a member of one party or the other. But a combination of campaign finance, media coverage and election rules make people THINK there are only two choices. The two party system is more of a political culture than it is a rule.

As for most calling themselves independent, they for whatever reason tend to vote for one party or the other instead of opting for 'Independent' aka 'no label' or a third party. There are exceptions of course like Vermont (look that up).
