It slipped your mind that Republicans had a majority for much of Obama's tenure just as they do now as the debt is escalating again.
You whined and cried about deficits under Obama and now you are the one defending Trump - despite having the house and the senate. Not sure about the person you are responding to but you have a serious pot calling kettle black issue.
1) Obama did not rack up 10 Trillion - get your facts straight 2) Just because your neighbor jumps off a bridge does not mean you have to.
2009 to 2016 less than 2% mean GDP growth over all 8 years. Since 01-21-2018. Everyone can see just how well Obama did.
How about you, will you publicly release yours? Now is your chance. Interest rates are nominally controlled by the state bank. So they won't rise sharply as long as the state is in debt. Because the state sets them.
Yes, we can. This is still largely Obama's economy. Trump made no chages of any note until nine months ago. And the changes he did make were specifically designed to front load the profits and channel them into the pockets of Mnuchin's friends. And he borrowed 100% of that money. Borrow and spend is what the Republicans do. And when they're out, they rediscover fiscal responsibility. Slow but steady really did win the race.
Weak response. Yelling at someone to release their tax returns in response to their pointing out that Trump hides his behind bogus reasons is childish. Besides, it's now very obvious that Trump has a lot to hide, and it's not just that he isn't nearly as wealthy as he claims to be. Intrest rates float with the market price of money. The "state bank", by which you apparantly mean the Federal Reserve, can have quite an impact, usually by controlling the inter bank offered rate, and shrinking or growing the money supply by buying or selling government debt. When the Trump Administration decided to double the Federal deficit, it has created a situation in which there will be a lot more Federal bonds out there that need to be sold. These compete with the demands of private busines for working capitol, driving up the price of money.
Release them. Why the double standard? None of us want to release our tax details, why would he? Prove to me right now that publicly releasing your tax affairs is a socially reasonable thing for someone to do when asked. In my country is it considered very rude to ask. It is your rudeness to ask, not his to refuse. Absolutely agree. That capital however may be Chinese in origin, or British, so.... Not all of that reduced business investment comes from your own economy. A large part of it is still attracting foreign money into the US.
It's quite hilarious but all according to plan. With the Buchananites and their true supreme leaders, the Koch Brothers, assembling their insidious entourage of funds, pacs, ALEC, etc, all enabled under Citizens United to act covertly. Trump is a tool of the Kochs, I am thoroughly convinced. Rack up the deficit, call the constitutional convention, eliminate all social safety nets by enacting a "balanced budget" amendment." It's all going according to plan and no liberals or moderates are sounding the alarms.
When Obama was doubling the debt, I saw a few Lefties who bragged about their degree in economics who would debate anyone as to why deficits are a good thing. One posted on this forum.
Ah, I hear plenty of Lefties sounding the alarm, otherwise we wouldn't be posting in this thread. So, if Trump is a tool of the Koch's, would you say his detractors are tools of Soros?
I don't think that's actually the case. Trump has no real plan or political philosophy. He's a clown. A reality TV star whose Presidency is largely a television show aimed at entertaining the same lowbrow audience that watched The Apprentence and Duck Dynasty. He is not take seriously as a world leader. And he is clearly in way over his head. In case you haven't noticed, the Trump Administration has largely ground to a halt on major issues. But diligence is in order. Because there's a lot of crooked and sketchy stuff going on outside the reporter's view. Trump isn't even a good front man. He is too unstable, to vein, and too stupid to take advice. Nobody that thought they could control him trust him. Especially not the Russians. He attacks the Kochs because they are a significant node of power in the GOP. The could get rid of him.
No. The left/center in this country does not have as insidious and infectious of a movement like the one constructed by the Buchananites and Kochs. Hence why the right has systemically worked to ensure their minority, unsupported legislative opinions have been shuffled in under cover of obscurantism; things like Citizens United; the constitutional convention is, what, 7 states away from fundamentally altering our constitution, all spear headed by billionaires like the Kochs? It's not a conspiracy. It's documented. And as far as Trump is concerned, who did he just pick for SCOTUS? Brett Kavanaugh, the guy bankrolled by the Kochs!
That's your problem. We absolutely MUST take Trump seriously, as well as the Kochs and their good for only the few attempts at destroying our union. The left is rabid over pitiful social issues and its lack of focus may end up allowing the radical, rabid far right to ensnare us in a constitutional crisis we will never recover from.
If the Right is pushing minority, unsupported opinions, then why have Democrats lost a thousand seats? Seems the Left like to push fear mongering at levels not seen for a long time. Koch money might support Kavanaugh, but Soros is spending money against him. Billionaires vs billionaires.
Nonsense. The right -is- pushing unsupported, minority opinions, and have been since reconstruction. I mean that literally; there are less supporters of right wing ideology than there are leftists and moderates, hence the push by the Kochs to call a constitutional convention - all to ensure they can eliminate the 17th amendment, and thus ensure minority hegemony over the majority. Trump was elected by acreage, for example. True power lay with land ownership. The reality is that Koch backed fundies and pacs have ensured 20 some odd states have passed constitutional convention pacts and they are specifically targeting other states to ensure the same. Do you understand what actually happens at one of these conventions?
They only need 6 or so more commitments from state legislatures to trigger a convention. This is something that is super under the radar that people should pay WAY more attention to
I am all for the Republicans again producing surpluses or paltry deficits and we need more conservatives elected and the RINOS and Democrats kicked out. They did the one side of the equation, tax policy. Now its the spending side. Convince me the Democrats would do a better job and how with their track record.
