I don't live there anymore. But they didn't run me off. Once the DOJ got involved I had no more trouble. And their names were on a list - the ones I knew about for sure. I made sure of it and that a few other people had copies of the list. But it was a horrible time in my life. The only solace was that I made their lives worse than mine before it was over.

One thing that was fun in a perverted sort of way. Once I realized that I was truly up against a conspiracy, I made them think I was crazy. I knew one guy was involved but didn't show my cards. I made him think I had gone off my rocker and was going to do something really horrible. And I saw him turn white as a sheet right before my eyes. There were probably half a dozen people who sat up at night for weeks waiting for me to come after them. There is nothing scarier than a crazy man out for vengeance.

It all became a big exercise in sleuthing. So I started planting evidence by saying something that was not true to one person and only one person. Then I would see where the information went. Eventually I was able to map out some of the people involved for sure.

A few years later, one guy actually admitted to me who had beaten our goat. He was always on the fringes but I don't think he ever played a direct role. And after it was all over he talked.

 

You should have seen the look on the face of the man who owned the local hardware store when I bought a dozen 6" lengths of pipe and 24 end caps. LOL! I wasn't going to do anything with them but he had no way to know that. He was another one who was visibly shaken by my mind games.

 

Didn’t get it. I don’t do wine. I make a nice hard cider though. There is an abandoned apple orchard near by, which local folklore claims was planted by Bugsy Seigal (Lake Arrowhead if you are curious to research). It has just the right combination of apple varieties to make a great cider.

After fermentation with an English cider yeast, I crash it to about 33F for a week then push it through a 1 micron filter, then carbonate. No much in the headache department. It’s a panty dropper though.

Most Homemade Booze { be it Beer,Wine or other } are not
very good.I should know ... I was a Homebrewer.My High school
and college best friend { was a genius } could fix about anything.
He took over his father's Electronics company after graduating with
his Electrical Engineering degree.I helped and watched him
build a corvette from a crate of parts.In the early 90's he paid
a visit and wanted to try homebrewing.He kinda like that I knew how
and my Homebrews were the real deal.Even though very bubbly.
His wife bought him a starter Homebrewing kit and he though he just
breeze thru it.He made just about every mistake there is to make,.
He eventually got frustrated and gave it up.

I would say it is more an observational advantage. I do tend to notice things other people miss in general. But only certain things. I can look right at other things ten times and never see them! One time I was coming out of the bathroom and noticed that there was a new ceiling light cover in the hallway. I said something to my wife about it. She said it was the same one we'd had for the last 20 years. Honestly, I had never really seen it before. Obviously I had looked at it many times but never really saw it.
