You're talking about ideals and philosophy. Nothing whatsoever to do with what I'm referring to. When you LIVE communally, there is only work and people. The larger philosophical ideal (the original motive for communing) becomes irrelevant in the face of the lived experience. Talking to you about this is like talking to giraffes about fish.

You claimed there was no successful communism in 2018. I disputed that .. because there is PLENTY. Perhaps you refuse to acknowledge it because it's terrifying? Perhaps you, like our 'Commie' pal GoogleMurray etc, think Communism will be all pretty and free, and won't mean a complete abrogation of personal goals?

Bunk. What I said in different words was that the problem you're having is that you are identifying your practical and real example incorrectly.

Perhaps you're sticking to this falsehood because you can't face your error. So I ask you again but I don't expect an answer, -can you name one country that ever lacked classes and whose state merely served as a record keeper and little more?

A "state" is not a record keeper. A state is defined by having a government. Governments create laws. They also keep records, but that is not their primary function.

Yes, you are right, mea maxima culpa - it should be "WERE not communist countries".
According to you "BY DEFINITION COMMUNISM IS STATELESS SOCIETY!!!!", so I repeat my question - please explain why Soviet Union, Cuba and some other countries - WERE not communist countries'

But we are living in the US where by "socialism" we (or at Fox News and some Republicans) consider public health care, free college education or even social security.

What kind of economy do you say Scandinavian countries have? Please provide evidence in support of your answer.

Well first of all we will need to know whether by "communist" you mean a reference to the ideology guiding the government, or the economy and social structure.

That represents sloppy thinking by the public you identified. It's a gullibility resulting from a failure to examine, think clearly based on facts, and use language rigorously because those are social programs, and nobody's authoritative analysis identifies an accumulation of those programs as "socialism".

Look ... my dear, this remains a case of teaching giraffes about fish. You are operating at the "dabble in the politics/philosophy" level of appreciating what communism really looks and feels like. For you, it's like looking at it through the distorting filters of ancient examples of 'state' attempts to live communism, then further filters of rare examples of shareholder operated businesses - and all seen from a light year's distance.

You must know that there are plenty of examples of current, successful communism, all over the world. You surely cannot be that isolated? EG, the Commune near me actually has 'branches' in many nations. All growing in strength and number. They operate MANY businesses, very successfully - but they absolutely do not run like the examples that the naifs tend to be attracted to (those which somehow, magically, don't impose enormous responsibility - and demand for soul sacrifice - upon the shoulders of every last worker). They run their business like a true collective, via common purse. No one is 'paid', and no one gets to choose what they'll do.

How about the Danish prime minister?
    https://www.thelocal.dk/20151101/danish-pm-in-us-denmark-is-not-socialist

He admits that it's a mix of socialism and capitalism. Sure, some of it is socialist, but the price is a steep one. The idea that an economy must be all or nothing is just a myth. So when you ask if scandanavian countries are socialist, that's like asking if women are tits. Sure, they have tits, but that's only part of the total package.

They lived next door to the USSR and hated and feared it.
Socialism is not a good word in those countries.

I've been reasonably civilised, and have actually tried really really hard to apprise you of your limitations in a discussion on communism. You appear to know nothing but the philosophical/political overview of crappy old 'state' attempts to do communism. You appear to know nothing of the ongoing reality of communism, which exists pretty much everywhere on planet earth that humans exist. In one iteration or another, it's everywhere. While you have no knowledge of this, we cannot speak on a level platform.

There is nothing that has held more people in servitude and bondage that socialism and nothing that has more more people prosperous than capitalism.

Haha .. bless you, Kode! I'd have pegged you for a more dignified exit, but there you are :D

In the meantime, since you appear to be interested communism, but have significant knowledge gaps, I recommend you read up on Common Purse communities and working Communes. What you think Communism might look like (and the ignorance based fantasy is always favourable to the middle class, western democracy type lifestyle) is not what it actually looks like. I would even go so far as to suggest that you actually try it, if you are sufficiently interested. I was, when younger (having read the Little Red Book, Marx, and various other dusty old tomes - as well as engaging in Cafe Socialism/Communism - like a dimwitted aristocrat dabbling in the philosophy of peasantry), and so made the effort to live the actual, genuine, article. Get my hands dirty, and such.
