If you got one thing free every day what would it be??? We all got to pay for stuff, but what if you got something for free? This question is not necessarily about a new welfare program.
An extra free day added to my life span. TIME is the one irreplaceable and always diminishing asset every person has. Otherwise, I did not answer because I believe what is free ultimately is the most expensive of all.
Housing definitely takes up most of my income. But I would settle for my productivity not being stolen from by the government.
I don't want anything for free. I am one of the guys that gives the free stuff. What I want is for the government to stop taking my time/earnings and giving it away to the takers for free. Edit: WJ5, you beat me to it!
I chose housing, if that means my mortgage payment is still being paid and the house is still mine when its paid off. If not, then I choose 'other' - Free Taxes (Tax Free)
I am actually really happy with free interesting updates on youtube....... that are actually much more interesting than network TV. This is far better than CNN:
Nothing worth having is free. Also when you become reliant on something that is free then you give up a piece of your freedom. The "gift" becomes a chain that is held by the person or group giving.
Free healthcare is what I would choose -- by FAR -- especially if it covered Dental services (as it should). When you start having lots of dental problems you better have thousands and thousands of extra dollars to pay for it -- or -- be poor enough for Medicaid to simply swoop in and pay for ALL of it. Socialism in action... I've seen it with my own eyes. Oh, and if your health insurance plan hasn't screwed you to death yet on your prescription drug 'benefits', just wait until the next time you need to get an out-of-the-ordinary prescription filled! It's amazing how much less the insurance covers on prescription drug costs, how much more the deductibles are, and, how much those drug costs have skyrocketed in the past three years! My friends in Germany can't believe it when I tell them some of the horror stories from over here in the States.
I just want my life and health of my family to remain good. Having endured one tragedy with our oldest daughter and having to raise our 3 grandchildren, we just want our health and a normal life .
I wish you success in having good health for you and your family. In my experience, our health care in the U. S., while still among the best in the world, is becoming radically more expensive -- particularly for prescription medicine. Obamacare was probably the worst thing in the world for lowering overall health insurance costs -- except for those who imposed such a burden on the entire medical sector and the government that they qualified for "subsidies" (another word for 'welfare') that paid for nearly everything. Now, even as we are finally getting rid of Obamacare, we're seeing that permanent damage was done -- now, anything and everything having to do with medical care in the United States is becoming monstrously expensive. . "Yeh, but those people gettin' the subsidies and other free stuff vote DEMOCRAT!"
I believe every Human should have a right to -- food -- housing -- medical care These rights would be the most important ones.
I disagree 100%. I believe all people have a fundamental right to reasonable quality food, housing, and medical care.
If those are considered "rights," where are the rights of farmers, carpenters, and doctors that must provide those things to you? Are they granted equal rights to the fruits of your labor?
Correction... Every human should have the right to EARN -- food -- housing -- medical care And if, because of verifiable disease, injury, birth defects, and similar things, a person CANNOT work, then, yes, the government should give that person those things as welfare, and even more things they need, for as long as the problem really exists (perhaps even lifelong). Everybody else? They need to get up off their lazy asses and WORK!
Sweet! That'll cover my mortgage and food. I can cover the rest by cutting firewood in the hills and contributing nothing to nobody. Where do I sign up?
