Had rugs been legal, the numbers would have been in hundreds of thousands. Drug laws must be enforced tougher.
Medical care? All those humans who lived without it for millenia didn't live meaningful lives? What about Jesus? Or Shakespeare? Ghengis Kahn? Julius Caesar? Beethoven? Copernicus? Their lives weren't meaningful? I disagree.
My brother is a life long welder and metal fabricator. He is very good at his job. He never finished high school and never got a GED. He could have never scored high enough on an ACT test in order to be qualified for the welding school. And there are high school grads these days who cannot score high enough on the ACT. Limiting skilled work to only those who can meet university standards is the height of stupidity. Some chimp made up such a rule, while playing with one of his own turds. It is surreal. Thoughtless, unbelievable.
Everyone has a right to these things. You are not entitled to have others provide them to you, however.
You have a right to those things, but not for free. If you want them for free you'll need a lot of slaves to provide the food, build the housing, and provide the medical care.
Food, shelter, and medical care are primarily what was being referred to by the words "pursuit of Happiness" in our "Declaration of Independence".
I would want all of my taxes paid for me....... Income Tax.... property tax... and sales tax........ Since I believe in the basic idea of doing unto others as I would have done unto me....... I will now go to work on a plan to pay off......your Income Tax... your property tax... and your sales taxes....... for you?! http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-dollar-problem.531929/page-2#post-1069618456
Yes, for some reason human beings generally speaking want to live as long as possible, and not die early on. Medical care, medicine, for those who can get it, when needed, as been shown to extend life, for some reason. Quality of life, a longer rather than shorter life demands medical care. And so it is understandable why so many place such great value on being able to access it. I have also found that it is generally the people with good healthcare and insurance that post as you did on this subject. Likewise once Perot tried to inform americans, especially working americans about that giant sucking sound, it was typical for the people whose jobs had not been offshored yet, didn't care much about those people who did see their jobs offshored and available jobs being low wage service sector jobs to act as a replacement for a living wage job. As long as it isn't my job being offshored, but the next guy's, there was no concern. Only when one lost his own job to slave labor did it begin to matter. ha ha. I doubt you will see many folks griping about medicare for all, so everyone get healthcare without going bankrupt, especially those who cannot afford to buy it, from those people who already have and generally have always had good insurance and healthcare, provided by good but limited numbers of particular jobs. It isn't the people that can afford healthcare that would want single payer, for they have no dog in that hunt. I guess it is just human nature, and has little to do with rationality, logic and reason, steered by some sense of a moral compass. Sorry but it is impossible to remove this tendency of those not suffering to make then concerned about the suffering. With that said, I do not think healthcare is a right, but it is what an intelligent, moral society would want to provide for those who are not of the higher IQs and can be a success in this scheme of globalism for the wall street boys, big banks and big corporations, and those elites that own them. To remove the costs of the middle men, their income and profits from healthcare via insurance is what intelligence would demand, if not for ideological values. To get the middle men out of the equation, and treat healthcare as we treat national defense, but without the industrial complex which has too much power to get what they want, even when the nation does not need what they are trying to sell the People. Of course the problem comes in when the gov't ineffectively does not manage intelligently any program they involve themselves in. Of course, those failures should cause the People to remove their representatives from office and vote in someone else, who has the ability to do their job and manage gov't programs efficiently and wisely. But we allow them to skate, always blaming it on the system, the gov't which can never do anything efficiently, except to get the big money boys to donate and finance their political campaigns. Truth is, if we held our elected rulers accountable for failures in a gov't run system, you just might get a gov't run program that actually worked. The buck always stop at the desks of the elected, but the voters are just too divided, jejune, and partisan to do their jobs in sending the failures home. I keep hearing just how smart the american people are, but there isn't much evidence to support this feel good utterance. This lack of intelligence includes both political parties, and the democrats refuse to blame themselves for trump winning an election. But we live in a cause effect universe and obviously the democrats did not offer enough of what millions of americans wanted, when they cast a vote for sanders and trump. I saw a poll from 2016 that evidenced that a majority of americans wanted single payer, no profit healthcare. (no profit for the middle men and investors) and yet when the DP had the chance to offer up single payer, medicare as an option, they refused to do it. And they refused to do it because of the power and influence of special interests, who of course did not want it, for it would lose them business. And the fact that the DP feeds from the same slop bucket as the GOP does, in regards to our rich elites, who do not want single payer, because they don't need it. So, healthcare should not be a right, but should be what a civilized, modern, moral, intelligent society would provide, financed by a payroll deduction instead of an insurance premium gong to insurance companies in the business to make money for themselves and investors. And 80 percent of the investing class are in the upper few percent. Not working people who outnumber them exponentially. Yet if we depend upon DC to come up with an intelligence driven system, and to create it so it functions efficiently and intelligently, don't depend upon the people you elect to do that. They are far too incompetent for whatever reason. And instead of holding them accountable, some of us will just claim it is impossible for gov't to do anything efficiently and wisely. Or that the whole idea of medicare for all will never work, based upon ideological driven values, anything else, and of course driven by the human nature in those who never have to worry about affording health insurance and health care.
I think it is generally those in good health. The young. Who post like me. Those who post like you tend to be those who need it. The sick and the elderly. But most of us aren't. So good healthcare might provide high childbirth survival rates. But once you are born medicare is not an essential in the same way as food and shelter. It has lower priority to the quality of your life. It's an essential if you are trying to extend your lifespan. Healthcare is a boomer issue. They grey vote. My turn will come. In my country healthcare is a given. It's there, you will get it. And all the rest is the usual crap that gets argued about. Things are as they are here. They won't change. So waste of time worrying about it. I look at people arguing which system is best and which reasons. What cost the mosts and bla blah blah. And the entire debate is bullshit. Unreliable statistics quantifying value judgements in aggregate. Bollocks talk. Some things are too complex to understand. Easier to predict the weather.
You have no evidence of that. Drugs are so easy to obtain it is no different than being legal. Being illegal makes it worse because there is no uniformity in purity or what it is cut with. Drugs are banned and the number of deaths just keep climbing. Bans don't work. People are going to get what they want and don't care about no ban. Bans only enrich the criminal community. They are more than happy to profit by selling banned items. Ban is just a word politicians use to arouse the ignorant. Make drug laws enforcement tougher? How you going to do that? Didn't Obama just free all the drug offenders with his pardons? Are you saying he should have executed them instead?
It would have to be other because none of the things you listed could possibly be free. Someone else paying for you because you're a bum does not mean it's free. Whether the left likes it or not teachers, nurses, construction workers, farmers, and even bums want to get paid.
Not slaves but Millionaires and Billionaires can be taxed to provide all people with -- food -- housing -- medical care
I condemn Duterte's blasphemy and believe he is destined for millennia of suffering. But he had a strong drug policy.
Millionaires and Billionaires should pay with taxes amounting to 80% of their free income. By free income I mean income not invested into business.
All my income is invested into business. And if you are taxing me 80%, it always will be too. You don't get to be a millionaire by being stupid with your money.
