Kavanaugh, Ford set to testify in Senate Judiciary Committee hearing

Well yes, though it has no bearing on whether the allegations are true or false. Whether dirt is being dug for doesn't determine whether the dirt is authentic once you have it. The overarching reality is Trump should have taken McTurtle's advice in putting forth a nominee that is easier to confirm. There's plenty of conservative guys out there who oppose abortion but weren't belligerent binge drinkers in high school and college... I think.. At least they'd have a shorter record to review, which was the initial McTurtle concern that he tried to get around by not reviewing all of it.

The reality is that Democrats, for purely political purposes, would love to see Brett Kavanaugh (aka "Bart O'Kavanaugh") gang-rushed onto the Court by Republicans. The alternative, a more conservative Amy Coney Barrett, would be a political nightmare for them.

I disagree... If Kavanaugh came out without noodling around the topic and said he wanted the background check reopened, they'd have to do it.... He's hemmed and hawed around answering the question.

Kavanaugh is putting the Democrats in their place and making them look like fools. HE is showing credibility when she was vague and adding NOTHING to support her accusations and showed she has tremendous memory problems.

 

Most folks agree that Ford acquitted herself quite well. Brett Kavanaugh (aka "Bart O'Kavanaugh") was hysterical and hyper-partisan - a singularly undesirable trait for a Supreme Court nominee to expose.

 

It's what they deserve. The Senate Judiciary Committee brought this upon themselves. They wanted to act like tools, they got treated like tools.

Are you questioning their judgement? And if so, if they conclude hes a serial rapist, would you believe them knowing you cant trust their judgement?

The witness have given their statements under threat of a felony. Do they think the FBI is going to show up and Judge will fall to his knees and start screaming I LIED I LIED I LIED WE DID IT.

But they could have done the same during the Gorsuchs hearing and turned it into a circus on the fact that it should have been Garland alone. They didn't.

So what if the Democrats are tying to delay. Why is that really an issue? Best case scenarios for Republicans, they perform and FBI investigation, maybe they come back with saying Dr. Ford lied about everything and so did the other women and Kav's name is restored. Then as a nation we can all rest assured that we didn't put a rapist on the Supreme Court. Nominations for judges historically take MONTHS! This is a very serious decision and it shouldn't be taken lightly or rushed. Kav was a bad pick from the beginning. When he's been nominated in the past it's taken a long time to get him through because he's such a controversial pick.

 

Then why did he refuse an FBI investigation?

 

Believe what you wish. This is revenge. Trump could have picked anyone else slightly conservative and Democrats would have still pulled the same theatrics that they did in the first initial hearing a few weeks back.

 

There are some old people up there... we'll be getting to some younger ones soon enough, on both sides.... The only thing left to watch today (except to confirm if Lindsey wet himself earlier) is to see what Flake does with his 5 minutes....
