Don't be a self-hating Bulgarian! Every nation has a history and, basically, a nation was either a conqueror and dominator of others, or was one of the conquered and dominated. Bulgaria was mainly the latter, sitting with the Turks on one side, the Russians on another, and the Germans not to far away as well. This shapes national character.

And the Bulgarians, long before the Muslims, showed how to do real terror-bombing, when the Bulgarian CP nearly wiped out the Bulgarian ruling elite in 1925. ISIS and Al Queda and the IRA are pikers, compared to you guys. [Note to humorless Deep State snooper-recorders: I do NOT approve of this method of doing politics.]

And ... modern society -- democratic capitalism -- started in Western Europe and has only slowly and unevenly spread out to the rest of the world. The further East you went from Britain/France/Germany, the more feudal barbarism prevailed.

But we're all pulling ourselves out of the muck. Slowly. Give us another two or three generations without an exterminatory war and you'll see a different sort of human species. Not because of anyone's Great Plan, but just the inexorable working of pitiless technology and economics, which is mashing up the tribes and sending English accountants to Hong Kong and Hindi software engineers to Redmond and Bulgarian entrepreneurs to Arizona.

Of course. It's same here. In my city we speak the most correct way, with best pronunciation and perfect grammar. The capital city's locals are called Sofiantsi, or also Shopi, and from there - Shop, Shopska salata (Shopska salad).

Milk is mlyako. They call it mléko, which is wrong.

Not my character. I grew up differently. Thank god. I'm no more Bulgarian than an Eskimo. Blood is thicker my cockalorum. The title Bogan is free and open and reserved for my fellow Europeans, and especially Eastern Europeans.

I'll never be the next Eastern European that goes on a foreign forum to try and show his pride, his nonexistent breakthroughs, and his fragmentary compass of mind. Yes, we can do great things, but only then when we see how deficient we are in general. At least I acknowledge that fact, which helps me grow exponentially and gives me no stops.

At this particular point in the history of the world, what is there really worth continuing to exist for?

 

Can't say. Every other day I see we're just an experiment, and we're failing. Everyone searches for God and the reason for existence and finds none when his child dies. Some will try and justify a violent death to a small kid by saying "it's God's will", and "to save the child from pain", if that's the case, where's our true free will to choose for ourselves whether to live, or to die?

If someone else is always pulling the strings, then what's the point when your life has been designed.

The world is getting wealthier every year, due to the fact that the market -- freer in some places than others -- allows human energy and ingenuity to keep discovering new things, to find better ways to make old things ... and this is true even in the worst places on earth. (Life expectancy has gone up by 11 years since 1990 in sub-Saharan Africa.)

I was going to, in 2010, but changed my mind. A friend of mine, had a company, still has, wanted me there, there's this type of business VISA or whatever, not business VISA but ... if you're a business owner, you can get pretty much anyone in your company, even a Somali citizen. You do hold some responsibilities, so does the departing part. Like, I have to stay there, for a period of time. And if his company sells oranges, I must sell these oranges even if I hate it. And must prove that I'm better than the natives at selling oranges. Eventually I got scared so I didn't go. Not scared of him. Of the place where he lived, recent police shootings really got to me, ghettos, I don't know, latino gang members I guess and such. I'm a peaceful introvert and not that I don't like change, but I don't like violence and too much dynamics.

Here, things go very slow. Extremely slow. Nothing really happens. I like that. A ranch somewhere in Wyoming, North Dakota, Idaho or Montana is perfect for me. I can die happily there without anyone knowing about it.

Lying about what? And what's in it for me, about the photo of my identity. I can sure blur all the info, but still I have to make the effort to take a photo, and I'm a pretty lazy person, you feel me?

At great lengths I go sometimes, just to prove something to some unknown people. Here, you may even give that to the CIA so they can analyse it whether it is fake or real. They'll even tell you if it's Russian, hence the cyrillic "hieroglyphs".
