Even Lindsey Graham, one of the most vocal supporters of Kavanaugh and Trump during this process said, "it's not helpful." A sensible person would and should be appalled by Trump's mockery of a woman who testified, under oath and in front of the entire world, that she was sexually assaulted.

I sincerely hope that Flake, Murkowski, and Collins will respond appropriately because the rest of the Republicans appear to be all to willing to normalize Trump's disgusting behavior and reward the man with the Supreme Court pick of his choice.

No worries, there are 4 Democrats from states Trump won that will vote for Kavanagh to save their own seats.

You wanna know what's also appalling? That the Senate is even entertaining Christine Ford at all, but they seem to be perfectly okay with that.

I might have some sympathy if she wasn’t an activist liar.

Perhaps the FBI report is wrapped up and the woman has been proven a liar. Of course, that's something you knew all along but it didn't stop your from posting nonsense on this forum. Incidentally, her ex-boyfriend from 1990's submitted a sworn statement to the Senate judiciary committe. Ms Ford coached some people in the 1990's, coaching them on the polygraph test.

Grassley writes: “The full details of Dr. Ford’s polygraph are particularly important because the Senate Judiciary Committee has received a sworn statement from a longtime boyfriend of Dr. Ford’s, stating that he personally witnessed Dr. Ford coaching a friend on polygraph examinations. When asked under oath in the hearing whether she’d ever given any tips or advice to someone who was planning on taking a polygraph, Dr. Ford replied, “Never.” This statement raises specific concerns about the reliability of her polygraph examination results.”

    When it comes to "class":

Compared to Trump--an Impolite, Braindead, Mountain Goat is the epitome of good manners.

She placed herself and her family at great risk to testify about her sexual assault under oath. Her sexual assault that, according to her, was committed by a man currently being reviewed by the senate for a position with a lifetime appointment.

This statement is full of bullshit. You would never express sympathy for someone who posses a threat to trump's agenda. Trumpettes never do.

She lied about something that never happened. I feel no sympathy for her. In fact, the FBI is concluding this one early.

LOL there's literally nothing to prove her "claim".

    Just another alt leftist.

Allegedly. Nobody can prove she was sexually assaulted. She might be in trouble for making false accusations and lying under oath.

I felt sympathy for her when I listened to her on the radio, once I seen her on TV, I lost that sympathy.

What agenda? Nominating Supreme Court justices is in trumps job description.

You have zero reason to claim that the assault never happened.

And I have yet to see any claim that the FBI is concluding the review early.

No, he will not. Good chance he gets confirmed. She, on the other hand lied under oath and people have stepped forward to not only discredit her story, but to point out her lies.

Yeah, see here's the problem: Normally, in *criminal court* we don't take the words of the accuser at face value(actually, at NO point in the legal process do we take words at face value.) We take these preventative steps precisely to avoid the Christine Ford's of the world. So to Collins, Flake, etc: Don't leave your day job unless voted out, they couldn't investigate or prosecute a case with their inability to discern the facts.

What we do, is we try to align their words with *evidence*. Hell, even circumstantial evidence will do. And since Ms. Bat can't give us a timeframe, or a solid place for the event we don't even have circumstantial evidence.

In lacking of all this, no reputable LEO would take it seriously and sure as hell not our congressional building. It wasn't brave, it was easy to pull the wool of idiots who've been gone too far from their lawyer days to remember how this works.

    Comical..........

Where's the proof? The very idea that someone's 35+ year old "accusation" would be Proof enough for you is absurd. She can't remember when it happened, she can't remember where it happened or even how she got home. As an Armored Truck driver/messenger I walked into a bank in New Haven Connecticut making a delivery in 1981. The only customer in the bank was wearing a brown trench coat standing at the table where he was filling out a deposit/withdrawal slip. He was sweating profusely, I could see the sweat on his shaved head (not to popular in the early 1980's) this was odd as it was December and only 7 degrees outside. As I passed him I flipped around and started dragging the hand cart instead of pushing it as not to turn my back on him. Inside the vault I told the head vault teller she was about to be robbed. She laughed at me and told me I was paranoid. Making my delivery, I received 3 small bags of loose coins and departed, again never turning my back on him. As I opened the rear door of the truck and tossed the first small bag of coins in, I heard two shotgun blasts from inside the bank, he blew two holes in the ceiling to get their attention. I quickly threw the last two bags of coins in with the hand cart and went in the same door screaming at my partner driving to "Go GO!" I remember every detail of that traumatic day (it's not the only one), when, where I can even tell you it was just before noon and what street it was on, just outside the Yale Campus. Those memories and the others are seared into my memory like most traumatic memories are. You'll need to pardon me if I doubt the veracity of her story, but it what she said happened, really happened she'd never be able to get it out of her head. Ask any wounded vet if they can forget the firefight they were wounded in. That's the problem, they can't forget.

    Excellent observation.

The snowflakes who are appalled by Trump telling it like it is don't seem to understand that when you present yourself to the nation as a freak being used by depraved individuals & cynically seeking political advantage as Ford did, all bets are off.

I thought Trump was, if anything, quite restrained.

But how many threads do we need of libs/Dems expressing their outrage over this offense to their sheltered & delicate sensibilities?

It was fine - a nothing burger.

Trump appealed to his base, and it gives congressional Heffs the chance to poo-poo him & still vote for Kavanaugh.

    Win-win.

Alright, this thread has gone far enough a field from the topic of the OP.

This thread is not another thread to merely reflect on why you don't believe Ford (especially if that reason is because your specific ability to remember a different type of traumatic event is not the same as hers or because you don't agree with the investigative process being used to review this lifetime appointment).

It is a thread specifically about Republican Senators expressing condemnation over Trump's mockery of Ford.
