Short haul get away. I'm from London, so... That rules out London. Where is there to go in Europe (or North Africa)?
My friend wants me to show her Amsterdam, I know Amsterdam (a little).. So, Amsterdam is probably my safe bet here. My friend's brother had a bad experience in Paris, France with whoever; so my friend doesn't want to go to Paris.. My friend also went to the South of France last year and, doesn't want to repeat, but wishes to explore new places for them. They're interested in Amsterdam, NL or Switzerland and, I guess if we were to choose Switzerland, we're trying to workout which city looks cool, and I think based from this https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=s...7j69i59j0l4.3800j1j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 that Bern or Lucerne look cool, but since it's my friend's idea, and they want to see mountains and fields and countryside... I'm going to let them figure out where in Switzerland to go.. They also have underground tours at Cern in Geneva, that might be fun.
Also, if it wasn't for my friend to want to do this soon, I'd be excited for Oktoberfest in Bavaria somewhere doing it, but no, she's thinking to do it soon so if left to my own vices and not of any suggestions of 'What to do in Europe/North Africa), it's'Dam (Amsterdam) (I've never flown to Amsterdam before, so that might be cool, like, 1 hour, you're there, in Amsterdam... Take a train to Amsterdm Central Station from the airport (I believe) and done deal, you're (I was going to say home) you're there, in Amsterdam... (Again). IDK, I'm wondering, to do solo and maybe go somewhere with my friend too/or whatever. And I could always do the tried and tested and true, (Amsterdam) but - Where is there to go? I like Morocco, she (my friend to whom wants to travel) likes Egypt and the pyramids... and me, I like that idea too... I would really like to go to Morocco, but not on my own.
I've never been to Europe and have no desire to go there. Though if I was there I would spend the day in Ireland hanging out in a pub. Somewhere off the beaten track. Then when I was drunk enough I would go hunt leprechauns.
If you enjoy good wine, food and friendly people you should give Freiburg i. Br. in the Black Forest / Alsace Lorraine region a try. There's a great mix of German cleanliness & French cuisine I was hitch hiking throughout Europe, the Balkans, & the Mid East but ended up living in Freiburg for almost a year. My friends & I rode our bicycles along Weinstrasse (Wine road) which parallels the Rhine River & has countless small vineyards & small French restaurants along the way. After a day of rolling wine tastings & a long, great French meal, we would sleep soundly in a nearby field & ride back the next day. You can see & enjoy so much more on a bicycle than in an auto. Rather than go to a crowded Oktoberfest maybe you could go to Fasching (Germany's Carnival) which is not so commercialized. Good luck with whatever you chose.
Avoid Africa and Western Europe. That's my piece of advice for you. Visit Budapest, Gyor (both in Hungary), Brasov, Bucuresti and Constanta (in Romania), and Varna, Sozopol, Veliko Tarnovo/Arbanasi, or visit anything under the Balkan Mountains (Bulgaria). Or all of them, since we're neighboring countries. North Italy is also great. Venezia, Roma, Riomaggiore. Amsterdam is such a cliche. It's such a dirty city, and everyone is smoking pot. Sorry, not my thing.
@The Rhetoric of Life Paris isn't the most interessant city to visit in France, you have a lot of interessant smaller cities to visit. I heard that Tunisia is fine, but I never went there myself. Lyon, Rouen, Rennes can be interesting. It depend in what you're interested. Museums, landscapes, countryside ? You seems more interested in big cities.
Well I'm back now, apparently you cannot speak the truth on here and warn everybody of Jeremy Corbyn supporters who are members here whom distort the truth. FYI, Momentum are thugs and enemies of freedom, and banning me only silences those who speak up against it. The UK is in danger of Jeremy Corbyn's culture of diagnoses and benefits and is openly hostile against business and freedom.
Poland is always good for a laugh or Vienna because I like the place. Otherwise go to Amsterdam, get drunk, shag a prossie and puke in the canal you'll fit in with the rest of the English Corbyn==Cancer that we can certainly agree on.
I dream of visit Vienna, but health troubles and lack of money make me stay where I am. I love classical music, Schubert, is one of the greatest artist there have been. Just the fact he could have live there make me wish to visit this city. Vienna was with Paris and Venise one of the capital city of european music.
I'd call that Southern or Southeastern Europe. Eastern Europe is Ukraine, Belorussia, Moldova, Russia I think. Thanks. Here's a map for everyone: (Brown is Southeastern Europe) Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Europe#/media/File:Europe_subregion_map_world_factbook.svg On this map, Italy and Greece are Southern Europe. Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, etc. are Southeastern Europe. Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia are Eastern Europe. The map is released by the CIA World Factbook, and is correct, according to the CIA World Factbook. It's logical. The Far East is so much culturally different than us. Bulgaria and Romania are closest one to another like architecturally and culturally. Croatia and Serbia are closer. Italy and Greece together. But if you for example travel from Bulgaria and Romania and enter Ukraine or Russia, the world changes so much, trust me on that. That's buildings, roads, food, people, mentality, everything.
Vienna is just one big melting pot. But like - negative melting pot. I heard more Russian and African speech more than German. I traveled a few times through Austria as a transit destination. I dislike it very much. Poland should be good. Never been there though. Too far away from me. But it's closer to England, and it makes sense to visit.
Morocco or Spain are popular northern European destination. Or if you want to smoke dope then Amsterdam.
It used to be easy to find beautiful cheap whores in Morocco in Kenitra, a city outside of a U.S. Navy base there. However the base has since been closed and given back to the Moroccans. So I have no idea where the whores have moved to now. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenitra
In Amsterdam there is the glass street with all the pretty young whores decked out in lingerie behind glass windows so you can window shop before you rent them.
