People can see that. That's why someone as outspoken as President Trump was elected, and why the US is returning to a course that honors the sacrifice of so many who came before. Avoiding the fate that has befallen California is a noble cause.
Electing a draft-dodger who compared avoiding STD's to Vietnam and bragged about having the tallest building in New York right after 9/11 was probably not the best choice.
Oh, it was a great choice. For example, among many things, exposing the filth that has been occupying DC has been part of his mission. As the Nation saw during the Kavanaugh confirmation process, members of the New Democratic Party hate the foundational principles of the Constitution. It's important for everyday Americans to see that. And then that great choice has provided a tremendous benefit to the newly employed. Or perhaps record employment levels for minorities is a bad thing and interrupts the plan?
You clearly have drunk the koolaid, but I'll just add that there is no record employment going on. The Labor Force Participation Rate is lower now than it was when Trump was sworn in. The unemployment rate is, and always has been, a statistical red herring. https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS11300000
No Kool-Aid for me. The New Democratic Party has corned the market on that product. But don't whine to me about the numbers you want to play with, go tell the minorities who are getting jobs that they don't matter. I'm sure they will appreciate the sentiment.
One good thing Obama did is cast into permanent law the Bush tax cuts. I think that is why you saw improvements. But that was the Bush law, not Obama's law.
Learn the then in force draft laws. There was one way to dodge the draft. Do it like Bill Clinton did and flee the USA over to England. A lot more fled north to Canada. You could live in the hills as a recluse as the FBI looked for you too. Deferements are not dodging the draft. Congress created every draft deferment so to get a deferment is following the law.
Obama hated tax cuts he said. But the Bush tax cuts that were temporary were made permanent by Obama. Guess if he agrees, Obama loves tax cuts. Notice Democrats refuse to credit the later Obama tax cuts for any improvement to the economy. Funny how the stick it to Obama on that issue.
After I learned what the Hitler economic model is and how well it worked in Germany, I feel FDR tried to pattern his presidency economically after Hitler's economy. Hitler brought the Germans out of a depression very quickly.
Are you one of those who believe the crash took place on the entire economy in 1929? Perish that idea. The surge down economically happened early in the FDR presidency. He had no way to dig us out. War fixed it for him. To credit FDR means one credits him with his part of WW2.
I never called him fascist. I also never called him conservative. You and i have totally different views on what makes up conservatives. I hate using that term to be frank about it. It is like Mom's apple pie. What the hell is that about?
And here I am led to believe by Democrats that presidents actually flip switches that manage the entire economy. But you tell me he does not control government? Really?
You've gone from saying prez control SS payments. They don't. To managing the entire economy, they don't. To control of the gov't? Well they do, 1/3 of it. They lead the gov't. But there are 3 parts of the gov't, so the prez controls 1/3. Since you are not a D, why do you let D's lead you to believe anything. Sounds pretty silly.
You don't. Minimum wage is meant for menial low skill jobs for retirees to work part time or for high school kids. If you are in college or over 18 and only making minimum wage then YOU ARE A ****ING MORON. Only losers make minimum wage after 18, only the most pathetic, lazy, idiot, imbecile, useless human being would work at a minimum wage job past high school unless, as I said you were a retiree just looking for an easy job to get some extra bucks. Who works minimum wager 18 and before retirement? Inbred, mouthbreathing, knuckle draggins, imbeciles and lazy morons who are a drain on society and useless dregs of humanity.
As I noted, there was a question about social security. In American forums, this question often arises, mainly in medicine. But the question is wider. It can be said that there are Fundamental and Applied directions in the Powers. Fundamental: Politics, Life Safety and Labor Protection, Medicine, Housing, Education, Culture, Science, Sport, Heavy Industry, Natural Resources, etc. Applied: Construction, Agriculture, Light industry, Trade, Tourism, Entertainment, etc. The goverment more or less interferes in these areas. Basically, they control the Fundamental. For example, - in the United States, in general, 90 percent of the economy is privately owned, but only 50 in Science - in the USSR, 95 percent of the economy was in state ownership. I believe there should be a reasonable balance between private and public domain.
For someone so keen to sneer at the value of others, there's a lack of intellectualism in your 'analysis'. Perhaps you could put that right by answering my question? Neoliberal countries such as the US and the UK have a history of higher working poverty and lower souap mobility. Can we understand those outcomes through a supply side argument, where we must assume the British and Americans are inferior compared to their Continental European counterparts?
I read how Americans blamed the trade unions for the crisis in cities like Detroit. They said: “Workers got used to have a good salary, which allowed them to have good homes and medicine. When the demand for the products of enterprises fell, companies' incomes decreased, but trade unions demanded that salaries be maintained in order to maintain social protection.” ... They also routinely cursed the government, Democrats or Republicans. And also immigrants. I think this is too simplified scheme. The problem is in the capitalist system itself, which does not exclude crises and wars. Soviet socialism had a "reverse problem". The Soviet people had a full social package: free housing, medicine, education. There was no unemployment. Unable to fire worker. But people are used to not paying for such a social package. They wanted more: expensive cars and beautiful foreign goods. And socialism collapsed. Now they have neither a social package nor beautiful goods. The truth must be somewhere in the middle. As I wrote above, there should be branches controlled by the Government, while others should be private businesses.
