You don't have to be a citizen to go to a college?

Several states allow non-citizens to obtain a permit and through reciprocity it becomes many states.

A handgun license should not be allowed either.

We need a national ID with states being able to apply driving and firearms licenses onto them

They do the same thing in my state. It makes sense to keep the voter rolls clean.

Dude you have to prove your citizenship and go through a back ground check to get a handgun permit. With college ids none of that happens. It is not an official state Id. And not all colleges are run by the state, have you not heard of private colleges. And no I did not go to college joined the military instead. But I have the pleasure of paying ISU $80,000 for my daughter's education and in the process of paying USD for my other daughter's education. Looks like the college boy is getting spanked by a lowly Sargent.

For what ever reason people on both the left and right hate the idea of a national I'd. I really have no opinion on the subject. I don't lead an interesting enough life to worry about the government tracking me so I do not really see the problem. The system is already in place just use a us issued passport system for national Id.

The customer list of the utility companies is the first thing they check.

What happens to the person who doesn't have a photo id? I'm sure there are scores of people who don't have drivers' licenses or other photo id. And what if they can't afford to obtain one?

Or like the Native Americans that live on the reservation and do not have 911 addresses and can't get a photo ID from anyone but the tribe authorities which is not considered valid without a street address..

The US got by just fine for 200 years without people voting with a photo ID.

The victims of the photo id requirement are likely to involve the elderly, the poor, and the infirm. The fact that voter fraud is practically nonexistent does scream "we've got a problem and we need a photo id." Use something else.

The court case says da injuns must get a valid ID issued from the state....The thorn will remain...Why? The Repubs screwed the injuns during and after the Civil War.

Guys when you go to the polls if you see something strange say something, like huge buses rolling in. Film it with your phone and follow that bus to the next polling place. The Dems have already said they plan to cheat.

First off, take the chip off your shoulder, and thank you for your service

Have you ever heard for the Board of Regents ? They dictiat funding to 5 universities in Iowa, but they dictate rules for all colleges in the state. And one set of those rules is the process to obtain an ID. What constitutes the proper forms required to RECEIVE an ID, is one of those rules. The fact that it is not an “official state ID” for purchase of a handgun or for voting is very purposeful....hint hint....Thanks for proving my point

There is no law against public or private transportation to voting sites.

Are laying suspicion that having a gun permit makes a person less intelligent then a college student or grad? So how bout those College grads that possess a gun permit and have a higher grade point then those grads and student that don't possess a gun permit?

I cant help noticing the entire point is somewhat sketchy, odd and clearly condescending ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯

In Texas, we get a new voter registration card every two years. If some dumb sh-t hasn't received a new card in ten years, they should know they're not registered.

Voting is not a difficult process. I feel no sympathy for the idiots who can't navigate a few simple steps.
