A business with a no guns sign in the window has zero legal authority, a concealed carrier can walk right into the business and not be breaking the law. Now if the business owner finds out he can ask you to leave and you can be charged with trespassing if you refuse but nothing will come of ignoring the gun sign. This is common knowledge here in CA.

I understand what you are saying and thank you for being a serving wife. I am a Vietnam Veteran therefore as a Veteran I am sensitive to reading crap in the media that just cannot seem to wait to tell us a person who did something wrong is a Veteran. When I got back from Vietnam the term PTSD was not invented yet. When I heard the term PTSD I at first denied that I had it. My wife who was my girl friend back then reminded me of some of the things I did. Lucky I had a mild affect and after heavy drinking for six months and wrecking a brand new car I saw the light. Went back to college got married bought fix up yourself House went to work raised a family with my bride.

I have been volunteering at my local VA hospital and though I am not in the mental health side I know that we have an active PTSD program, crises line, Vet To Vet mental health talk sessions , psychologists, psychiatrists etc. We have an active reach out program but not all troubled Vets reach back out. I have volunteered as a substitute in the Vet To Vet sessions but there were days that only one Vet showed up or none showed up. I have spoken with mental health staff and they have a NO SHOW problem just as we over in Physical Medicine have. No Show is our term forvwhen a Vet fails to show up for his/her appointment.

Maybe if all Vets had a wife like you or my wife or family like that there would fewer Vets who feel that they are in the dark out there.

When police show up it is far too late. It would take police 20 minutes to get out to where I live. An armed confrontation can be over in seconds. Only a fool relies on police for protection. I have great respect for them however.
