Dollar stumbles as Trump’s China trade truce revives risk taking https://www.rawstory.com/2018/12/do...es-risk-taking/?utm_source=push_notifications
I don't get why he is letting China off the hook, They export 4x to us as they import from us. He should be holding thier feet to the fire and not giving them time. I want them to negotiate under the most duress we can put him in. This is the first time in foreign relations that he has disappointed me.
We are being affected also, so a truce is a good idea. The tariffs have just begun to hit our pockets and we will feel it more as time passes, and it will hurt. It is called "compromise" and "pragmatism", definite qualities that good leaders possess. Trump possesses none of the above and believed that he would have been successful by now with his confrontational approach.
Of course it is going to hurt us, but it is going to hurt them more. Please tell me what victories Oboma's, Clinton's and Bush's compromise and pragmatism have won us in the last 25 years, except going more in the whole. This isn't a win win situation like Mexico and Canada. This has to be a solid win. I wanted the trade deficit reduced by the same percentage and same number of years that it has grown. I will even agree to a plan that has us Importing 25-35% more than we export to them so that it is palatable to them. But 300% more No F- way
tarifs on chinese goods will impact the lower class more than anybody else, and the lower class are his base. When the poorer whites won't be able to afford shopping at walmart they'll defect back to the democrats.
tell me other than farm goods, energy, and some industry item such as planes/auto etc, what goods we can export to china more? we certainly not gonna sell weapon or high tech to them.
In the last 25 years, there has been not much of anything done in a compromising and pragmatic way, or in any meaningful way. However, the Trump supporters will be hurt the most by tariff increases and by U.S companies raising prices due to high costs, inability to remain competitive, and then the inevitable move to other countries, which is how history will repeat itself. High tariffs hurt global economies and eventually the working middle class at home. Oh, and I am not worried that it will or won't hurt them more. My concerns are here.
Where are you on the man-made-global-warming-doomsday hoax? Have you been taken in by that proposed liberal scam?
I believe that our climate is changing and not in a good way. Whether it is man-made or not, I don't know. However, I think that all countries need to do something about the pollution of our planet. Some politicians don't "believe" that our climate is changing because their pockets may be negatively affected by any positive steps that they can take to try and alleviate the problem. It would mean environmental controls to preclude pollution from continuing to absorb our planet.
China is one of the worst polluters on the planet Much of which is caused by their greed for US dollars And in turn by US consumers looking for cheap products who give them the dollars
so isn't that mean our demand cause their pollution. FYI, china per cap green gas is much less than US per cap.
China is the biggest polluter on the planet And by proxie so are western consumers who insist on buying cheap and dirty junk from them instead of products made here under strict enviromnental regulations
Well, they did get China's tariff rates down about 30%. Does that count? Your dream is not going to come true. The Chinese simply don't have the money to make it happen even if they wanted to.
China may be one of the world's worst polluters, but at least they have a plan for dealing with it, in a way thay leaves few avenues of avoiding the new rules. I noticed some of the new "hybrid" car models intoduced at the LA Auto Show, which struck me as odd, given that hybrids sales haven't set the world on fire here in the USA. Then I read that, as China is the world's largest new car market, and that they've mandated almost all new car sold after 2025 must be electrified in some way, if you're going to play in that market, you're going to meet that standard. China may absolutely pollute a lot, but that won't ho on forever.
in term of per cap pollution china is lower than US, remember they have 1.4B ppl vs 300m here. wait, aren't republican the one talk about ignore EPA, support traditional energy such as coal, oil and other dirty energy, drive big ass SUV/truck, etc not support clean energy like wind/solar.
The man-made-global-warming-doomsday hoax is a liberal nightmare that I dont share But lib free traders are certainly trying to have it both was on climate change but supporting the pollution factories in china and india
Looks like the market figured it out when no one could say what really happened. Hang onto your 401K. Is Kudlow next on the chopping block?
Yes China, U.S, EU, Japan, etc. I don't know about greed for U.S dollars being the main cause of China's pollution. Could be auto emissions, etc. China stealing our intellectual property is also a concern.
