Are you sure you want to do that? I’m sure there’s some fresh bilge water I could find for you.

That sounds disgusting; I’m intrigued. I do love a good microbrew. Used to live in Colorado Springs. Place was filthy with them. I miss it.

I’ll have to look that up if I’m ever in Reno.
Iron John’s in Tucson makes an amazing green chili beer. They bottle it, but it’s always better on tap.

    Amen.

Plus even ark builder Ken Ham admitted there was no chance that two of all species of animals plus their food would fit on a full sized ark.

So, he invented his screwball creation/evolution hybrid!

I think that this one will be a metaphorical FLOOD....... not a literal one with water.

Isa 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemyshall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

One pair of Sabre Tooth tigers and / or lions and over a few millennia all other cats could come into existence.

The current estimate is that there are 1 to 2 million species of animals. And, there are about 36 to 40 species of cats.

    So, yes.

However, it would leave Noah with 1 to 2 million other species of animals to figure out how to capture, feed, fresh water, etc.

In the Noah story, a few things have to be evident.
    1. Localized flooding
    2. Local animal community on the ark
    3. They did not have the ability to know conditions globally

For instance, Alaska recently had a large earthquake. We in the SF Bay area did not feel it.

So, YOUR view is that God was lying when he said to Noah, "Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."

That doesn't hit me as likely. After all, the Bible says, "The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.”

So, please cite where a religious expert gives your view - that is, if you didn't just make that up.

It shocks me you defend GOD and the Hebrew Bible.

When did you arrive at the conclusion that Bible is accurate?

    I'm not defending the Bible.

I'm reading it, since that is what the discussion is about.

Is that a novel concept to you?

I'm pointing out that it's highly likely that the Noah story is an allegory rather than a literal description of events.

    There was no Noah.
And even if there was, there certainly was no dialogue recorded.
    Just like Adam and Eve.
Who wrote it down, in what language.

Yes, the whole formation of this story screams allegory.

I do think it could convey meaning as an allegory. However, the world wide flood from nowhere that then went away, God (who sees the future) deciding he needs to wipe out the humans because he's disgusted with his creation, this ark that must carry seven pairs!! of every clean animal and one pair of every unclean animal, and the stores of water and food for a 150 day voyage after God sealed them inside the ark - please. This just gets ridiculous if interpreted as literal.

There could be meaning in the story as allegory - god washing the Earth with water, his promise, the ramifications for disobedience, etc. None of that requires the story to be literal.

Hey in Islam, when the dung got deep, Noah tickled the elephants tail, 2 hogs jumped out, and ate all the sh-t.

As you did what? Did you argue it is an allegory?

Go back and read where you challenged me for not going along with the most common idea supposedly from the Noah story.

Weird stuff happens in Aesop's fables, too.

Yet, they still have meaning. We say "sour grapes" - probably no longer remembering where it even came from, but fully understanding the meaning.

One of the problems with these ancient writings is that we no longer understand the cultural references.

Why is the order of creation in Genesis of any interest? And, why are there two different orders? They each probably meant something thousands of years ago in some tribe somewhere.

I stated why I disagree. You can't complain about that.

If you have evidence that the story is literal, then go for it.

sounds like you're making an excuse.
The story is written very plainly.
Also Muhammed had a fixation on Dung and urine. it comes up a lot.
No, as I said the story is very plain. There is no question as to what it says.

There is another one where he gets tigers, or some type of cat, to chase the rats.
I would have to look it up.

and these "ancient writings" are written in 9th century Arabic,
