I sure have. Went to a few back in the day. The entire industry was decimated, and they are as outdated as porn shops. I do wonder if the statistical disparities in promiscuity levels between gays and straights will be radically reduced in this generation and the next. The gay subculture is entirely different post GRID and same sex marriage bans. I think we have largely recovered from the isolation and redefinition of previous generations. How much of a subculture do we even need anymore, let alone one that disparages 'heteronormative values' like fidelity, monogamy, and commitment
I think pregnancy is the biggest worry if heterosexual promiscuous men. Perhaps this is the reason diseases don't spread as much among them. Perhaps it's because their choice of willing women are very narrow. well, something I've noticed within the black demographic is much more homophobia. Every openly gay black man I've ever met that had a relationship with their father is disowned by their make family members. Now of course this happens within every demographic but it seems particularly high in the culture associated with black men.
I'm not really talking about nudity in the regard of someone simply changing clothing in public. You misrepresented my statement. See above. Regardless of how nudity is viewed in other countries. A man exposing himself and propositioning a person for sex can be viewed as a threat. It can involve police and jail time even. I think it's ridiculous to view nudity as sexual harassment but that wasn't what I was talking about.
Its not the nudity. We are not discussing accidental or neutral same gender nudity. Its the mindset of someone ( a flasher) who wants to force it, and shock you with it that is the threat. if he is getting a thrill out of it, there may be a problem.
All the data I have seen shows a direct correlation between homophobia, stigma and aids rates. Most of the narrative stems from religious texts taken out of context. It’s sad the Aids council was recently dissolved by Trump - evidence pointed that they were closing in on a cure...
Are you saying you're deciding now to always interpret it as a threat, or are you saying that you would respond violently if it seemed threatening at the time? Ftr, I think you would be legally justified taking it as a threat, I just dont think it would necessarily be morally justified. Most 'flashings' are not followed by an attack.
I don't doubt that. I'm just really stating an observation. I certainly believe religious beliefs is a large factor. But I really think it's a symptom of a different issue. People use religion often times to affirm beliefs they hold. And I think homosexual men are seen as an afront to masculinity, and because of this the religion is interpreted to affirm the aversion.
I agree with you if it is outside or in a mall. The problem in the case of bathrooms is you feel cornered especially in the stall and I feel it's understandable to have that knee jerk reaction and use physical force.
I am saying exactly what I typed. Asking me if I'm saying some absurd thing you made up is a strawman fallacy and I have little patience for that.
I'm surprised nobody except me has addressed that it took undercover police to catch politician Larry Craig and singer George Michael doing it. This is an indication that clearly this problem is persistent and widespread when the police need to go undercover.
Catching two people doing the sort of thing in how many years does not suggest that it's widespread just that it happens.
Than ask me to clarify. Don't just make up some random nonsense and ask if that is what I'm saying No I didn't say that. I said exactly what I typed. Nothing more.
You typed "I would take [flashing] as a threat. Threatening isn't violence but you can respond with violence and it absolutely is justified." ...and yet you're not saying 'someone flashing you is a threat'? Can you see my confusion here? Can you clarify how you can take something as a threat without saying it is a threat?
you added the word in there I did not say that. Once again I typed exactly what I said. no I didn't say what you typed. yes I do see your confusion I was not being clear. That's still not license to fabricate strawman fallacies. I didn't say I could take something as a threat without it actually being a threat. You almost had it but you continue with the straw man. I did not say whatever words you fabricated.
Those damn evil men. Pigs!!! Lets condemn the lot of them (while ignoring the evil deviousness of some women)
No, I'd probably feel blessed. (I wish! ) But if I were to be propositioned? Yes, in all likelihood I would. Next question? lol
