That's what you folks have always assumed, but law enforcement are just as likely or more likely to own private firearms as anyone else, these silly laws effect them and their loved ones too. I never understood how liberal gun grabbers figured law enforcement would just go along with their nefarious plots and plans...
You mean like this? https://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/16/us/sheriffs-refuse-to-enforce-laws-on-gun-control.html
How dare anyone defend their rights from a bunch of self righteous, elitist, leftist trolls who never heard of a gun restriction they didn’t like?
It’s NOT about saving lives, or even gun control, per se. It’s simply a mathematical reality that liberals realize. As long as the second amendment supporters have something to fight for, they will come out and Vote. If that battle is lost, then the Democrats win the whole shebang. It’s a simple numbers exerecise for complete control of the country.
Always interesting to get your perspective on how things are done in more liberal areas of the country. Where I live if the Fed wanted peoples guns it would require sending in the Army or Federal law enforcement. That is because there would be few if any in local law enforcement or National Guardsmen who would make any attempt to enforce anything even as simple as a magazine ban. And lets not even mention an attempt at door to door confiscation of weapons or components.
Got 4-5 of those things. Yeah they use clips. have about a gross of "clips" for the Garand. If you need to shoot something and need it to really be shot, the Garand is a primo choice. accurate buggers-when I was 12 or 13 (it was early in the year and my birthday is early in the year) the local DCM affiliated range had a military match where for a nominal entry fee, they supplied DCM garands and Lake City Ammo. I was pure hell with a Weirauch Air rifle (got my DE with it on the ten meter/33 foot qualification course, and my father-who had been a top rifle shooter in college paid my entry. you got 20 sighters and then shot--iirc 20 shots standing, 20 shots sitting and 20 shots prone. Fortunately the weight of that Air rifle was pretty close since I had a heavy barrel on it with a barrel weight on top of that and I shot expert with it. The recoil was a little tough since I weighed all of about 110 pounds at the time but I had a buckle jacket and a sling.
Rewatching "Band of Brothers" as part of my annual Christmas vacation tradition. It always makes me want an M1.
hell I buy them in case lots of 20. Picked up 50 of the even better than Magpul-lancers-550 (11 bucks a piece wholesale). I have British Stainless steel sterling mags-those are nice but heavy. Ever since the idiotic Clinton magazine ban sunset in September 2004, I have been buying magazines. Fortunately I can blow a few hundred a year on magazines alone-on top of the competition magazines (like the 22 round CZ custom mags for my CZ steel guns or the 27 round ones for my USPSA Open rig) that I constantly buy. Many other gun owners have the same attitude. The sunset of the Clinton gun ban sent millions of serious gun owners into stocking up just in case the Democrats try to do the same crap again. The Clinton nonsense has probably caused the sales of MILLIONS upon MILLIONS Of magazines. The Trump election meant massive discounts on these things as makers had churned out thousands of extra mags a day in case the banning twit got elected
What part was unclear? I was simply pointing out the multiple ways an interaction between a LEO and citizen can play out.
What's unclear is how the hell such an interaction can result in the citizen being abducted for ransom.
https://reason.com/blog/2018/12/19/baltimores-gun-buyback-program-is-insane Head on down to Baltimore, sell your cheap high cap mags for a profit to buy even more.
Even though my comment still applies, you will not get an answer because of the way you worded your question, who in the world gives a flying eff as to what the anti-gunners post here, they cannot shape policy, they cannot formulate or pass legislation and they sure as all hell have no power to control anyone or anything. Now that stated the majority of the anti's here do fit my description to a T, they fret and wring their hands while standing ankle deep in the blood of children while demanding more firearm regulations, but do nothing, nada, zip about solving real problems that kill many more children on a daily basis. All they care about is using death to promote their rights restricting ideology while claiming to care about children or the victims of firearm violence. But you will never find them in the hood doing anything about it will you?
When the charges cannot be substantiated in a court of law, and are ultimately dropped long after the bond has been paid simply so the prosecutor does not have to justify their pursuit of an indictment, it is a fitting comparison to make.
