"It's a spectacle, and candidly, it's juvenile," Corker said. "The whole thing is juvenile."

Trump is doing as much for border security as the open border swamp rats will allow him to

The wall is not the only thing needed for border security

We need stronger laws to stop immigration abuse

But I admit that the open bordrr libs have just about worn trump down to a standstill

If this continues America will be cursed with millions more migrants in thd future that we are powerless to stop

So shut the government down for as long as it takes

Bigotry is one of the core aspects of Trumpism. Not all Trumpsters are bigots. But race baiting and fear mongering are core parts of the Trump message. There isn't any point pretending that isn't so.

    Center for Immigration Studies? [IMG]

    QUESTIONABLE SOURCE

A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, overt propaganda, poor or no sourcing to credible information and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for the purpose of profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact checked on a per article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the notes section for that source. See all Questionable sources.

    Bias: Extreme Right, Hate Group

Notes: The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) is a non-profit research organization “that favors far lower immigration numbers and produces research to further those views.” It was started as a spin-off from John Tanton’s Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in 1985. Reports published by the CIS have been widely deemed misleading and riddled with basic errors by scholars on immigration; think tanks from across the ideological and political spectrum; media of all stripes; several leading nonpartisan immigration-research organizations; and by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The organization has also drawn criticism for its financial and intellectual ties to extremist racists. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)published reports in 2002 and 2009 connecting CIS to John Tanton, who helped found various other organizations, including the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and NumbersUSA, and showing he has ties to white supremacy groups and a eugenics foundation (SPLC). Bottom line, this is a hate group. (2/8/2017)

Trump wants to give a gift to his contractor buttbuddies. I guess It's a lot easier to pretend to build something in a remote area and then question the patriotism of anyone who dares wonder why the steel looks suspiciously like papier mache, (or isn't there at all), rather than have to deal with actual inspections by real engineers.

    https://www.politifact.com/californ...-true-visa-overstays-account-half-all-people/

If even just a quarter of these people were caught and sent home there wouldn't be any need for a wall, but that assumes the Wall is a real solution to a real problem rather than the King of all boondoggles. A multi-billion dollar payoff to Trump''s cronies AND the greatest distraction from his real blunders imaginable, the only drawback I can see to it is that nobody would ever believe people would be abysmally stupid enough to fall for it.

Nice job.... also, kudos for your new (I believe) avatar.... Individual-1 with a Hollywood star?? Love it...

Isn't it about time for some kook to sledgehammer the real thing again?? Apparently, there's all sorts of fun going on at that star these days...

    https://www.tmz.com/2018/12/23/dona...of-fame-star-damage-no-extra-security-police/

EDIT - PS. Take the TMZ Gallery tour - History of recent damage.... Love the guy who built a "wall" around the Star

If Trump was smart enough (Ha Ha Ha), he'd figure out some way to raise money for his wall by allowing people to vandalize his star for a donation...

It's not Trump's wall. If built, it would be America's wall.

If marauders were looting your property every day, I suspect you would spend a modest amount to have a security fence built around it, lest the marauders eventually render your property useless. So if you and most others are smart enough to protect your own property, why shouldn't the government be smart enough to protect its own borders?

One should not confuse legality with bigotry, lest those who do become bigots themselves; bigoted against any who prefer right over wrong, and legality over illegality.

There isn't any point pretending that this isn't so.

What's an "open border lib"? Is this your next bogeyman? I consider myself to be part of the vast liberal conspiracy. I'll vote against Trump and any of his enablers all day, all week, and all year. Having said that, I've yet to meet an "open border lib." Sure does make the disparagement simplistic though doesn't it? What we libs would vastly prefer would be positive comprehensive immigration reform. Pass enforceable laws, enforce them. Smash the businesses with heavy fines that employ undocumented immigrants. Remove the simple financial incentives. The wall is a lazy person's achievement to show his chronically myopic base instead of actually doing the hard work. Saving the United States with a concrete and steel wall is akin to saving the planet from consumerism by convincing people to recycle. LOST CAUSE.

Corker is an idiot and a has been. It's Christmas week, nobody is going to miss the 1/4 of the government that is shut down as its nonessential. If this stretches past Christmas then the nonessential government workers are going to have to pay some bills without a current paycheck. Given that government shutdowns are not abnormal, they should have some savings put aside for this eventuality, if not, well, they are largely Democrat voters, so Nancy and Chuck's constituents that they are hurting with their theatrics. Congress authorized a barrier, on a nonpartisan vote, even Pelosi voted for it, 12 years ago and they have yet to fund it. Well, they need to cough up $5B for border security if they want the President's signature.

Ordinary Americans are discovering how little that one quarter of the federal government is missed – not a comforting notion for the Democrats, the party of big wasteful government and open borders.

Senator Lindsey Graham ROARS: “We will not give in!”

President Trump knows the Art of The Deal, part of that is waiting until his opponent faces pressure to compromise. Sooner or later, the Party of Big Government is going to want the other 25% back in working order more than the party of Donald Trump and Lindsey "Give No Quarter!" Graham.

The GOP very smartly has not yet funded a massive, $29 billion New York infrastructure project — supported by Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) and Schumer.

Governor Cuomo, the 2nd dumbest of the Cuomo's, was in town two weeks ago yesterday, he begged the president for the funding of the Gateway Program project. The big tunnel, the Hudson Tunnel up in New York.

It’s estimated at $29 billion, not long from now, when the timing is ripe, Trump may very well put the $29 billion for the tunnel on the table along with $25 billion for the wall and inform Chucky that he has one shot at this, take it now or you are not going to get it for at least another two years.

The existing tunnels are 100 years old and barely staying in service. If they shut down, Manhattan would lack a rail connection to the rest of the national rail network, and a huge number of New Jersey commuters and Acela passengers from DC would be marooned.

Those New Jersey and New York commuters, and the Northeast corridor rail travelers, like the federal bureaucrats, are Democrat constituents, for the most part.

So, let the pressure build a little, then let's see what kind of a deal Chuck is willing to make.

There are no marauders rendering anyone's property useless.

    This is ridiculous fear mongering.

Seems readily apparent to me that your source, Media Bias/Fact Check, is indeed crackpot city. That last place you'll ever find a fact is from your own hand-picked left-wing fact checker.

What everyone should know for sure is that the cost of illegal immigration is very high, many billions of dollars, and growing higher every year; and that a border wall is the most cost efficient way we have of stemming that growth, and securing our nation in the process.

So, objective reality ain't your thing and you're going with the reich-wing feel-facts propaganda brigade. Noted for all of your future posts.

I guess symbolism escapes you. Think of it as America's property, America's citizenry, and Americas's wealth being marauded upon, each and every day to a greater and greater degree.

If you had any objective reality, you'd be thinking the same way I do.

Tell us objectively why we should put illegality above legality, non-citizens above citizens, and open borders above secure borders.

No, we get the symbolism, but recognize it as baseless, breathless hyperbole. Sell that chit somewhere else, 'cuz we ain't buyin' it.

The only ones claiming that are you and your panicky, bleating ilk. How's that for objective reality?

    Too straightforward?

Thanks for confirming that name-calling is the only tool you have in your tool-box. It's not what I'd call an objective argument.
