What we elect are the people who are willing to go through the election process. These are people who put political power above all else - exactly the last people that should have political power. The system has done it to itself. We can't have the best people in elected office any longer.

I agree - because of the type of society that we have become, one that turns politicians into celebrities and highlights and publishes whatever trash they can dig up, many who would be good for our country have no desire to see their lives and their families splashed on the covers of rags or fodder for the 24 hour news cycle. And so we are left with media whores and those who are power hungry. But it also allows us to see the REAL politicians - the ones who will make positive change - very easily. They are the ones not fighting back in the press or making meals out of negative publicity. Unless the negativity goes too far, of course, and involves innocent bystanders.

Because the wall will do little , and is a bad investment. You have to be naive to think immigrants won’t find another way, effective way, to come in. That drugs will still find their way in. Of course it has everything to do with it. What we say privately, even when swearing, should remain private unless the listener asks permission to make it public - otherwise they are 'off the record'. Do you know who made this swearing public?

Would you have listening devices planted in these meeting places in order that nothing is private? You may want to get past this political position you've taken and compare it to the real world and what we want as a society.

 

None of these people likely used their first day on the job as an occasion to use profanities. First they had to demonstrate that they have the intelligence and social graces to appear in public without offending a great number of the electorate.

This woman has clearly demonstrated she lacks personal responsibility for her actions and should not even be in a position where serious decisions, free of emotional invective, must be made.

That would all make perfect sense except Cohen has already pleaded to it being a crime. If Cohen knew it was a crime, there is extremely little reason to believe Trump didn't know. This wasn't at the beginning of the campaign, it was at the end...

So you have no proof that Trump swore at that meeting? And where is the apology you claim exists?

I don't care about people swearing at private meetings but if they do it in public there'll be controversy and they'll be judged accordingly.

Trump has an extensive public record and a history of accomplishments whereas this woman has none. She was unwise to be a sassy smartass before she gained any knowledge or experience.
