With Obama he spent almost a trillion dollars on "Cash for Clunkers," shovel ready jobs when there were no shovel ready jobs and initiated over a thousand regulations on businesses and manufacturing.

Meanwhile, CNN contacted journalists in San Diego to get the "local view" of the effectiveness of San Diego's border wall. The reporters would have informed CNN that the wall was very effective.

So CNN decided to not book them as guests.

CNN asked a local news station to provide a reporter to give their local perspective on the border. When KUSI News responded and provided them with a reporter who had done extensive reporting on the wall and how it’s been effective, CNN changed their mind.

A San Diego television station on Thursday said that CNN had asked for a "local view" and then "declined to hear from us" after past reports from the station showed that a border wall was effective.

"Thursday morning, CNN called the KUSI Newsroom asking if one of our reporters could give them a local view of the debate surrounding the border wall and government shutdown," a report by KUSI, an independent station in San Diego that began airing in 1982, begins.

"KUSI offered our own Dan Plante, who has reported dozens of times on the border, including one story from 2016 that was retweeted by former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, and posted on DrudgeReport.com," it continues while linking to a border fence tour report.

"We believe CNN declined a report from KUSI because we informed them that most Border Patrol Agents we have spoken to told us the barrier does in fact work," it concludes. "We have continuously been told by Border Patrol Agents that the barrier along the Southern border helps prevent illegal entries, drugs, and weapons from entering the United States, and the numbers prove it."​

The steel slats don’t run the entire length of the border in the McAllen area. We found one part where there is a chain link fence. Occasionally migrants come thru but residents say their community is quite safe.

Your post describes difficulties with building a wall, but does not in any way explain why it is not a solution.

But that is going to be the sleight of hand by Trump. Of about 300-400 miles of "new" fencing, only 40 miles of so are going to be in any new area. The vast majority will just replace already existing fencing. That is why Trump tweeted about his "new" slate fence today... turns out it was replacement fence that was a project started under Obama.

Trump is just going to put a new look on the existing fence and claim it is something new.

I think Trump really likes the idea of this being the longest shutdown in history. He loves saying that everything is the best in history, biggest in history, etc. This will give him one to talk about that will actually be true.

 

Clothing and hair sort of like what Trump will look like in a few years... jail diet will help with that waistline too..
