I don't know about you, but there's something unnerving about a schizophrenic or demented individual having a gun.
The NRA would come to the conclusion that they condemn the AR15, but not other rifles. No other country has had as much bloodshed as the US has in the past twenty years, and the same strawman argument is used, "The 2A protects this, the 2A protects that." I always point at Germany and Australia as examples of effective gun control. Yes, Aussie's homicide rate has slowly rose since 1992, I will admit that, but you haven't seen movie theaters and stadiums be shot up like you have here, have you? And yes, we would hear about it over here. Plus, neither of those countries allow mentally ill people to have a gun like we do here. By the way, I support people having guns, but the time comes when enough is enough. When people fear going to the movies, going to school, or to the mall because a madman is allowed a gun, and the NRA has an inherent weakness to speak out against it, we cannot let the gun lobby run amok.
More people die by hands and fists than an AR15 in any year. Your chances of being killed by a rifle of any kind, much less an AR 15 are about equal to being hit by lightening... so, again, tell me about the actual risk posed by AR15’s other than your nightmares.
Some of what many will say is a conspiracy theory about this shooting still makes more sense than the official investigation conclusion.
The NRA has nothing to do with any mass shootings other than in the minds of the MSM and their brainwashed followers.
Simple, because except to those who are brainwashed by mass media thinking folks know the NRA has nothing to do with such.
One, AR-15s are in common use for lawful purposes, and are thus protected by Heller and Caetano. Two, the AR-15 and similar rifles are likely have the lowest "bloodshed" of any firearm type. It's defintely way behind the levels of all pistols, all revolvers, and all shotguns. Lastly, there is no Constitutional provision to remove Constitutional protections based on a number. Are you aware of the terms of 18 USC 922g? That's the federal law that lists the reasons someone can be prohibited from legally buying or possessing a firearm. Among those disqualified are those who have been adjudicated mentally defective or having been involuntarily committed to a mental institution. If someone is so mentally ill as to be a danger to themselves or others, there are legal steps to remove their 2A rights.
If the NRA took such a position and willingly sacrificed the AR-15 rifle, there would still be numerous other rifles of similar make, configuration, and functionality available for use and ownership. If the AR-15 were replaced in use by criminals, it would only be a matter of time before the NRA was pressured to speak up on the next type of rifle used. Then the next. Then the one after that. Then the one after that. It would ultimately be a never-ending cycle. So ultimately there is no point in bothering with such useless gestures. Are the nations of Germany and Australia a part of the united states? If not then the comparison is invalid. Beyond that particular matter, one cannot do a compare and contrast between the united states and nations with supposedly effective firearm-related restrictions, unless they are willing to do the same for nations that have firearm-related restrictions and still possess high crime rates. If the nations of Germany and Australia are valid, so are the nations of Brazil and Mexico.
They aren’t involved in anyway., but the NRAs lack to do anything about the situation involving guns therreafter as if again, they had condoned the action. Jewish blood is on the NRAs hands. Had they done anything with the gun control crowd following Parkland and Vegas, those Jews in Pittsburgh would be alive.
I use those countries as examples of effective gun control to put anyone who attempts to use cities like Chicago to shame.
What, pray tell, is the NRA supposed to do? Last I checked our congress is the only group that has the ability to implement gun laws. The "blood of Jews" is on the hands of the shooter....period.
The 2nd equally protects all bearable arms - those commonly used for traditionally legal purposes. How is the AR 15 not a bearable arm? Handguns are used to murder 3 orders of magnitude more people than 'assault weapons'; handguns cannot be banned Your argument is completely devoid of logic.
As this makes no sense whatsoever, there's no reason the NRA, or any other informed, rational and reasoned individual (or group thereof) would do this.
Of course they are - they know they cannot advance their mindless agenda without (white middle-class) dead bodies to stand on and (white middle-class) blood to soak themselves in.
Uh no, I don’t want mentally ill people having access to guns. Nothing about that says having all guns banned.
I hope to the gods above there isn’t another mass shooting, but there has been a pattern here for the last three years. As a native Pennsylvanian, I became even more pissed at the gun lobby and the NRA for pushing for no background checks or making no change in stance on mentally ill people having guns after Pittsburgh was attacked. They are part of the issue, not the solution.
Law enforcement is not the NRA's job and even though they have lobbied for changes to the laws to allow mental health records to be entered into the FBI NICS system, that was strongly resisted by the mental health lobby, so it never went anywhere.
