You must not get out much. The Bush family is known primarily for its generosity and common sense. It’s a huge contrast with the Clinton and Obama families.
Frankly, that is because the mainstream media chose to write stories 90% negative. They werent interested in highlighting any obviously positive news. Because they are an arm of the Democratic party. And so I wouldn't put faith in them regarding Trump, unless you want to wait 20 years for accuracy.
They also don't know the times he went to visit sick vets and kids in hospitals going out of his way to avoid the press. Say what you want about his politics but George W was one of the nice ones and even though his second term was marred with bad decisions (most of that I blame on Rumsfeld) he didn't deserve all the hate that charges of racism that the left tossed at him. They can go **** themselves. I think both of them benefited from have "worse" Presidents come after them at least in regards to each respective party base. Bush and Obama are only 4 percentage points apart. Aside from that they also happen to be the two worst Presidents in regards to ME policy. Bush and company mismanaged Iraq and Obama trashed the rest of the ME region when he took over.
I kind of feel the same way about both Bushes and Carter. Regardless of how I feel about their politics, the seem like genuinely good people.
That last part is just complete crap and you know it. The reason no one knew about it is because virtually no media organization ever talked about it. For **** sake Don Lemon on CNN who is supposed to be a full time news anchor didn't even know about it till one of his guests mentioned it. Most people heard about it for the first time when they had the Clinton, Bush, Carter event a few years back when Clinton or Carter (cant remember which) talked about it. On the rare occasions it has come up I have used it as a defense of his character and to shutdown the absolutely asinine and idiotic "racist" comments from people like you. Go take your "All Republicans want blacks to die" bullshit and shove it up your ass.
I think he deserved a good deal of the hate connected with is spectacularly poor decisions in Iraq & Afghanistan. No US President since Johnson has stuffed up as badly as that, and Johnson only did it the once. He undoubtedly had poor advisers, but he chose them and he listened to them and disaster ensued. Having said that, he seems a decent man (as did Obama for that matter) and he did good things that have been ignored. As of 2018 I think the 'lives saved' figure for the AIDS program he turbocharged is over 15 million. That needs to be taken into account in any assessment of the man.
You need to read a bit more carefully. Note the phrase 'couldn't care less'. Not the same as wanting people dead. That pretty much applies to the attitudes of most people in the West to Africa. They care little and do less. The media don't cover the place no matter who is doing what....unless there are US troops on the ground or there is a threat to the US. People on the left are slightly better at pretending to care than conservatives, but only a bit. It is a racism so deeply ingrained that it is just 'normal' and it crosses the political spectrum. No one comes out well. As for my opinion of conservatives on Africa, lets say years of observation have led me to that conclusion. Pushing 'abstinence only' AIDS programs; supporting scum like Pat Robertson (do some digging); supporting Christian activists who themselves support the outlawing of homosexuality; and then there was Ebola. One of the most disgusting things I have ever had the misfortune to observe was the faked Ebola panic before the 2014 mid terms. With right wing media pushing hard an army of vile scum flooded the internet with attacks on Obama using a terrible tragedy in Africa as the vehicle. Day after day for weeks. Not a shred of concern for the tens of thousands of dead, only for their partisan agenda. The dead & dying were just props for a political campaign. And as soon as the mid terms were over, it all came to an end. Each and every person involved in that disgrace is filth as far as I am concerned. Had I the power to drop them into the middle of the epidemic I would have done it in a heartbeat. So, don't give me some BS about 'the media' being the reason the story didn't get much coverage . There was nothing stopping the right pushing the good news about the Bush programs as hard as they pushed the faked Ebola scare. They chose not to. If you understand why one happened & the other did not then you understand by opinion. If not then I doubt I could explain it to you in a lifetime of trying.
"Former US President George W. Bush has taken an unprecedented step, and spoken out against Donald Trump’s government shutdown." Bush suggested no such thing. Here's what he said: “It’s time for leaders on both sides to put politics aside, come together, and end this shutdown,” Bush wrote.
No thread here has ever so clearly demonstrated that liberals are super-hawkish closet conservatives, happy to make kissyface with a war criminal because it's now the popular thing to do. Do NOT mistake Democrats or liberals for the left; they are merely the OTHER large conservative group supporting endless war and endless criminal corruption in US politics. (As long as it's THEIR criminal political celebs doing the killing and plundering; Bush II is now in the club.)
His father was a more cautious President, but I suspect he was one of the ones who suggested a lot of the truly awful advisers who steered junior in the wrong direction/indulged his worst instincts.
Yes, everyone likes GW although they may disagree with him, it was interesting to see his relationship with the Obamas which I doubt Trump will ever have.
Trump is never going to have a decent relationship with other presidents. He already ruin any close relationship with the Bush's. Don't expect any with the Clinton's either. Although when Trump was donating his money to the Clinton's and Democrats, they loved each other. Trump will just sulk off someplace when he's done.
More importantly, under lies and deception Dubya inserted this country into that hell hole of religious BS called the Mideast. He delivered to us the fraud of the Global War On Terror so that he and his Saudi and Israeli friends could benefit. He let loose the Dogs of War, and this country has suffered immensely from it, as he has supervised the plunder of the US Treasury and the killing and maiming of young Americans. Thanks Dubya, for nothing but crime and hatred.
Read it and weep sir: https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/news/a35397/bush-cheney-war-crimes/ Dubya's taking the country to war under fraud is treason. To borrow from the old book in the 60's, none dare call it treason, but today's society is notorious for its gullibility.
I have no idea what your point is. I don't know what your point is. In 2006 I knew about GWB African initiative through "Right Wing" sources. You just found out about this astoundingly successful program years after the fact which tells me you have been left uninformed all these years. I would think it would suck to learn you were manipulated to think a certain way about someone.
