Not up to me. But I do have faith in Israeli scientists; after all, per capital they have more Nobels than any other nation/race. Chances are, they’re onto something.

They currently have nothing, do actual drug, no scientific publication, not FDA approval, no clinical trial, yet they come with this statement.

If a cure is out there in a year or twos time, spot on. As cures and inventions go when they announce that a break through could be on the horizon, it won't materialize.

 

sure there is, just like antibiotics, this could be over prescribed "just in case" medicine too, anything might me cancer, prescription....

This company has completed Phase I Trials of an anti cancer technology - Patients with bladder cancer were cancer free after 9 and 12 months after one treatment. They are now moving to Phase II Trials.

Point being - yes - we do hear stories like this on a relatively frequent basis. The above is pretty cool though. They person ingests some stuff that is attracted to the cancer cells. This chemistry - when illuminated with laser light - is activated (I believe producing hydrogen peroxide or some destructive chemical) and kills the cancer cell.

 

What does science have anything to do with military policy? They can cure aging and I still would hold them accountable if they kill thousands of people. These are two entirely separate things.

And their contribution to science has already been vast. That wouldn’t change that perspective.

Consider also mortality from CA does not go to zero. The reason being the invasive nature of CA on the tissues. It’ll disrupt blood flows, cause bleeds, and likely a slew of other issues. That’s be phenomenal if they do, but it’ll still be a fight.

 

And it's pretty much guaranteed that in order to make it profitable, only rich people will be able to afford it. The rest will still be tied to the other profit center, chemo chemo chemo, followed by endless stretches of symptom management, but never a cure.
Cancer culls the herd of "useless eaters" and "expendable peasants", so there's no way we'll see an egalitarian approach to a cure.

You mentioned polio. Today, polio would be managed. Smallpox has an extremely high viral epidemic quotient, hence the need to eradicate it. But cancer is not epidemic, it's just a scourge. To those at the top, a scourge is a useful tool.

 

The last one who tried something like this, Shkreli, is sitting in jail right now.
Beside, politicians want to get elected and if the population says they'll vote for the ones making that drug available, then they'll step in. Remember that those companies can't sell any drugs without the consent of the government.
