POST 196 PolydectesWell-Known Member 113 ↑ Click to expand... So if it's not a good thing it's a bad thing? Changing laws isn't my goal Polydectes, Today at 3:21 PM Report""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" (Bolding of the word " goal" above, mine) YOU brought up the word "goal" FIRST as is PROVEN in post 196.....
Surely that is a distinction without a difference. The issue is whether we choose laws against women as the methodology for reducing abortion. Other countries have had better luck at having a lower abortion rate without having laws against women. Another advantage is that if you could get the F OFF of this "laws against womeen" kick, we could work together as a nation to reduce the number of abortions. Instad, you DEMAND that we use only one metod - one that is not acceptable, because of what it does to women. Why?
That's another progressive fallacy. White women in the U.S. have pretty comparable abortion rates to the countries in Europe averaged as a whole, although abortion rates are much higher in Eastern Europe than Western Europe.
It's because the U.S. has fewer White people. (especially looking specifically at the demographic within childbearing age) Why don't we pick a country that isn't White or Northeast Asian? That's the progressive fallacy. They always look at countries that just, coincidentally, happen to be more White or Northeast Asian and ask why can't we be more like them.
It looks like the abortion rate for White women in the US is 10 per 100,000. https://www.guttmacher.org/infographic/2017/abortion-rates-race-and-ethnicity Abortion rate in Canada is 13.7 per 100,000. Looks like abortion in Canada is going up. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/na...des-from-its-embarrassing-abortion-statistics Guess Canada is becoming more like the US.
Well, then loosening up the abortion laws in the U.S. wouldn't really reduce abortion rates, now would they?
I did not say they would. I only said that other nations are doing about as well as we are without using your onee lone methodd of laws against women. There is no reason to believee that laws against women is the only approach.
So presumably you are saying we could either "whiten" the country, or reduce the poverty rate, depending on which the actual cause may be. It's not such an easy thing to just reduce poverty rates. If it were, Mexico would have done so by now.
Well, if I were a full blown biigot I miight say that. Otherwise, I might suggest that we ask women questtions designed to give informaion on why they chose abortion - questions other than "Is your skin white?" After all, that could lead to us reducing the reasons aborrtion is chosen today in the USA. I don't believe the reasons for abortion in America are the same as the reasons for abortion in Canada, by the way. For example, in the USA single women point out that they don't believe they will be ablee to care for a baby. The cost of healthcare, low wagers, inflexible hours, lack of cost effective day care, etc., etc. all can lead to the conclusion that caring for a pregnancy and a baby is out of the question. These factors are not necessarily the same in Canada.
Or ask them why they didn't responsibly use contraception. I don't think asking them would be very helpful.
Sure - there are those who study contraception design, usage, effectiveness, etc. There is a known failure rate for all types of contraeption. If you want to know the failure rate is for any of the various versions of "the pill", you can look it up. We also have people who study rape and incest - which might be why the woman's responsibility is not the issue, right? There are even those who study why women choose to abbort!!! So, you could even look up why women abort if you want to know the top reasons!
Laaaaziness is the top reason. That and lots of sleazy loose sex outside of a committed relationship.
WHY? It is NONE of your business and relates IN NO WAY to the right to have an abortion..... .....but in surveys when asked if contraceptives were used, of the women who responded, many said yes. Then mind your own business and don't ask them
GEE , NO MISOGYNY THERE !!!!!!! Yuppers, kaz, they have LOTS OF SEX, SEX, SEX.....that's all women do and they do NOT consult YOU about it Oh and that sex is sleazy and LOOSE! Lazy women having loose sex and YOU can't stop it And, of course, you'll ignore all the facts that prove you wrong.
