anyone that wants to live in a socialist society, the moon or mars would be the place to live - in the beginning a socialist society would be a requirement

How the **** can I supply evidence when I'm not, nor ever have been, a part of it? The difference between us is that even though you assert that 'skepticism is important' you quite obviously don't practice it; and the reason for that is because you actually want to believe it all, and that's fine by me. But you and I have discussed this at some length and there's still no meeting of minds or ever will be, so let's stop going around in circles shall we?

Which has nothing to do with why you think the moon landings were fake.unless you think cosmology is anything to do with space or anything outside of earths atmosphere?

Are you confusing astrology and cosmology again?

Cosmology is a branch of the SCIENCE of ASTRONOMY that deals with the ORIGIN and the EVOLUTION of the universe.

Note that science deniers have always had problems coming to terms with both of those concepts since they are convinced that goddidit instead.

Only a small-minded anorak would feel it necessary to distinguish the difference. As I've already said, however it's dressed up (or hyped up lol), cosmology or astronomy, call it what you will, is the observation of the universe, and that's good enough for me. It's there, and there's nothing that puny mankind can do to change it, so why obsess?

Denigrating the pursuit of knowledge seems to be a primary attribute of the OP anorak's obsession with Science.

Is it motivated by theist beliefs or simply low esteem as a result of not being able to comprehend the relevant subject matter?

The definition of cosmology is the scientific study of the large scale properties of the universe as a whole.

There are different types of cosmology;which one/s are you referring to?

    Types of Cosmology

    · Physical (study of the largest-scale structures in astronomy without any kind of religious assumptions).

    · Metaphysical (concerned with explaining the fundamental nature of being and the world).

    · Religious (explains the history and structure of the universe based on religious values).

    · Esoteric (a subset of metaphysical cosmology concerned with explaining universal phenomena based on philosophical beliefs).

    Or so you claim!

The atheists I know all take a keen interest in Science.

Science IS the observation and study of the universe.

Exempting parts of our universe from science is an assault on science.

But it isn't practical science is it - you know, nothing (and I hesitate to use the word yet again, but I obviously do??) tangible ever comes from it; all it does is offer non-provable, frequently off-the-wall theorizing and big numbers, with a bit of hyperbolic nonsense to sensationalize and big it up thrown in for good measure. For example, what difference does it make to your life or knowledge base if the universe is shrinking or expanding? Or if a new star 'is born, or dies' ( ), or if black holes bounce into each other? (ffs am I really asking these questions!!)

So scientific knowledge has never made any difference whatsoever in your own life?

Have you never used a microwave to heat up something you want to eat?

Have you never watched an international sporting event like a soccer match or an F1 race on another continent what was beamed to your TV via satellite in real time?

Have you never used your GPS to find your way to a place that you have never been before?

Have you never received an SMS on your phone that alerted you to something important that you needed to know about right away?

 Heard it all before - they'd have been invented anyway. Nowt to do with deep space exploration.

    Wrong, as usual!

Cosmic microwaves were PREDICTED before they were discovered. That these SCIENTIFIC predictions and discoveries were turned into PRACTICAL uses that you take advantage of on a daily basis merely exposes your fundamental lack of comprehension of EVERYTHING to do with science.

:evileye: Prove it! But hey, if all that outer space exploration made possible the invention of microwave ovens, I guess that made it all worthwhile? ( )
