And bigoted against Omar. She can't speak against AIPAC because she's Muslim but Thomas Friedman can. In the New York Times back in 2011, Friedman wrote: No one called Friedman an anti Semite for saying essentially the same thing Ilhan Omar did. And everyone knew it was true just as they do now. Phony outrage it is. And AOC deserves sharp rebuke for throwing her friend Ilhan Omar under the bus. She is a coward. Bernie as well.
He's zionist, he's allowed to speak to Jewish affairs without attracting the pesky fake accusation. It's zionism they protect, not Jewishness, which is the vehicle the zionist uses when they practice their supremacist ideology right in everyone's faces.
I have to disagree with you on this one. Omar has made anti-semitic remarks. I was glad to see Muslims elected to Congress but I was very disappointed in her lack of temperament and hateful comments. She represents Muslims poorly.
What is there to be outraged about? She's a bigot. She was elected to the US Congress. She's like so many other democrats that make it into office. Do you suppose that somehow she's special?
It's interesting that the US government can apply sanctions against any and all around the globe, but the US citizen may not even advocate for sanctions against Israel. Nor may he, under legislation proposed by Marco Rubio, even talk about the crimes of Israel with language advocating boycott or divestiture of Israeli investments. RIP First Amendment.
Juat face it..Muslim politicians are not capable of governing without their religious beliefs at the forefront
Just Muslims?? https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&sou...aw2q89PPVg7f3o8gd0Cy7RQS&ust=1550263828317679 Secretary of State Mike Pompeo opened a speech in Cairo on Thursday by referring to the Bible that he keeps in his small, wood-panelled office on the seventh floor of the State Department. “This trip is especially meaningful to me as an evangelical Christian,” he began, in a predominantly Muslim country that accounts for almost a quarter of the population in the Arab world. Only ten per cent of Egypt’s hundred million people are Christian. “I keep a Bible open on my desk to remind me of God and His Word, and The Truth.” (The State Department transcript provided this capitalization.)
I didn't watch the video but I have heard a few people debating this. Apparently the word she used which is apparently an anti-Semite trope for those who know about it, was actually her talking about some rappers or something (same word). I also saw two non Zionists Jews discussing it. Neither of them thought she was antisemetic and the lady said that the Democratic Party had decided that they wanted to make her quiet. She believed it was nothing to do with antisemitism and that if they had not got her with this they would have got her with something else. The intent was to make her quiet and she had to make sure this did not work. Sorry I do not remember the names. They were American and first time I had heard of them. ….and then Trump was wanting her sacked which just shows the oppression there is in US politics at this time.....in both parties.
That's not what I replied to I replied to your statement ... "Muslim politicians are not capable of governing without their religious beliefs at the forefront". Pompeo saying "I keep a Bible open on my desk to remind me of God and His Word, and The Truth” is keeping his religious views at the forefront. Didn't really think that something so obvious would need to be broken down.
Neither are those of the Judeo-Christian persuasion. Congress has a chaplain, and many (most) city councils around the country open their proceedings with prayers to religious gods.
Dude..we got what, 3 of them currently ? 2 had anti semetic statements and one called the president a MFr AND has a map of israel with it showing it as Palestine for the whole region instead...now there have been countless jewish and Christian politicians and how often do you here these stories? Not as much as you hear qith just a small handful of musilim politicians. Sorry to say but facts are facts...muslims cannot separate their religion from their politics...TRUTH!
Most of us have grown weary of the endless enraged/ignorant RW trolling, spamming and flamebaiting, so we're few & far between at the moment. But I agree with you 100% on this; what she said was fine, and being forced to apologize for gently speaking mild and obvious truth is the only disgraceful thing that happened here. Basically, the wildly bigoted anti-Semitic Islamophobes and shills for endless US terror and war (sometimes the same people) cooked up the outrage to silence/damage a fine woman.
What's class have got to do with anything. The man in the WH lacks class, but I don't see too many righties complain about it. What is so special about Israel (just another country) and NutnYahoo, the corrupt one. He care came to our "house" and lecture us? He can just return the billions we fund him and go it alone.
Honest question here: People don't give two wits if a person is anti Muslim (many would cheer this in-fact), anti Catholic, anti Christian, anti...*insert any religion here*, but if the person talk ills of Israel and Jews, they are treated like lepers. What's up with that?
She showed more class in her exchange with Abrams than Mitch McConnel has showed in all his years in the Senate.
