Moore has not been involved with Greenpeace Canada since at least 2010 maybe earlier.He is a paid spokesperson for the Nuclear industry,and the logging industry and the genetic engineering industry, and still tries to use his once affiliation with Greenpeace to add cache to his resume.

Energy use is essential for the welfare of all life on this planet. Without the use of energy dense resources like coal and oil, millions of people will indeed die.

The cynical part of me knows that people like AOC don't care about that truth. The rational part wants desperately to prove that people like AOC are far more dangerous than AGW. The rest of me thinks, "screw it" and continues to work on self sustainability so that wether or not people like AOC successfully shoot society in the head repeatedly, I'll still be able to provide for myself, my family, and my loved ones.

 

Why is it that the people who want to effect the most radical change to a system typically have the least understanding of how the entire system actually functions?

AOC has no clue how the climate functions. It is a massive system that is infinitely complex. Likewise, the global economy is massive and infinitely complex. The fact that she believes she can control one by controlling the other proves her infinite stupidity.

 

Natural systems do not obey tyranny. They are controlled organically, not by decree. Her attempt to bend society to her individual will, if successful, will only corrupt the process, not improve it.

 

This would seem like a great opportunity for you to attack the arguments being made and make your case against the 'crummy bull' but instead, apropos the left, you go the ad hom route. You may feel better after sharing your feelings but, really, it's no substitute for critical thought. Let's see if you can do any better next time.

So you think we can get enough food into Chicago, or DC, or LA with horse and buggy? The current population of New York state alone is more than a quarter of the US population in 1900.

 

And how is it delivered across the world - even to your local supermarket? Jimmy79 is correct - you're not delivering that food using low-energy means.

Essentially, Occasional Cortex' plan works fine IF you assume that we're gonna all go back to individual farming, start growing our own food, and take our technology back to the 18th century or further. Oh, and good luck getting China, Japan, or Russia on board with that.

Which may be what Occasional Cortex wants, for all we know.
