Actually because of the ACLU, liberal politicians and liberal judges who legislate from the bench law enforcement standards have been lowered for all law enforcement officer in the country in the name of political correctness.

A large percentage of todays LE wouldn't have qualified for wearing a badge and a gun 50 years ago.
The standards have been lowed that much.
