For many of these women, abortion wasn't all flowers and sunshine. 1 hour long documentary of interviews: Many heart-wrenching stories there, women who didn't really want abortion but felt pushed into it.
Heart-wrenching. When this woman aborted her baby, it would be the last she ever had, due to infertility. (Maybe due to the abortion she had, not unlikely) This woman was pressured into abortion by her fiancé, emotionally blackmailed until she didn't have the energy to resist any longer: excerpt from above video: I was thrilled, and I went to tell my fiancé about the exciting event, that we were expecting a child. And he said "No, you're not going to have a baby, you're going to have an abortion." I was stunned, and didn't even know where to go or what to say. Why didn't he want our baby? I was confused, and thereafter I begged this man who I was going to spend the rest of my life with, to want our baby, for two weeks, and the threats got more and more. I was WEAK (anger, holding back tears) and after two weeks of his pressure and threats, I folded. I went to the doctor and he took me to make sure I had the abortion, and I cried all the way through. And when it happened, I knew I hated myself profoundly and forever.
Welcome to kaz's world of movies and emotional fantasy. Many heart-wrenching stories about women who didn't really want to be pregnant and have a kid but felt pushed into it. Nothing more heart wrenching than to be turned into a slave by having the right to your own body taken away...as Anti-Choicers want to do...
The OP EXPLOITS a small sample of women in order to further the NEFARIOUS theist agenda of DENYING women their Constitutional rights while IGNORING the MILLIONS of women who have had abortions without any pressure or negative connotations.
She doesn't have to keep the kid. There is the option of adoption. You know an interesting fact? Women are statistically more likely to give birth and put up for adoption on the second pregnancy, after they have had an abortion. I guess that proves that they didn't like what they went through the first time. I know that was the case with one of my grandmas. Not all women choose to adopt however:
The effects of pregnancy last a lifetime...…. Nothing more heart wrenching than to be turned into a slave by having the right to your own body taken away...which is exactly what Anti-Choicers want to do... And here's the part you had to cherry pick out: Many heart-wrenching stories about women who didn't really want to be pregnant and have a kid but felt pushed into it. Can't address post #5 ???
Then presumably you have some video interviews from women to share with us? Women who gave birth and were devastated, as you claim, by their wrong choice?
First I NEVER said they were "devastated" by it, that is YOUR word...if you have to make up stuff that means you have nothing And since it's common sense that some women were not happy about being pregnant (HENCE ABORTIONS ) ….why don't you prove EVERY woman who was ever pregnant was happy about it... Can't address Post # 5 ???
Using your bizarre form of "logic" if someone isn't happy with their new Chevy, Chevrolets should be outlawed. If someone isn't happy with their plastic surgery then NO one should be allowed plastic surgery. If someone doesn't like the lunch they were served , lunch would have to be banned Have ya caught on yet to how stupid the OP premise is ??
It might be part of the overall argument if there were other additional reasons to ban them. I live in a Pro-Abortion state, and just recently they made getting your eyes tattooed illegal. So obviously they don't believe in absolute bodily rights.
I shouldn't have even brought it up because I don't want to derail the discussion off on some other random tangent. Yes, there is good reason to make it illegal. But the point is the government had no problem taking away people's bodily rights in that particular situation for good reasons. The law passed with almost unanimous support in the state legislature, with only 1 abstention. This in a state that believes women have the right to their bodies.
You keep on disingenuously CONFLATING completely DIFFERENT issues. An abortion is a PRIVATE matter between a woman and her doctor. Caring for the BLIND requires TAXPAYERS to support them. PREVENTING blindness is RESPONSIBLE government. Theist DENIAL of Constitutional Rights is a VIOLATION against We the People.
Why do you persist in posting these vacuous strawmen? Are you really that desperate? Do you NOT know the difference between PRIVATE health and PUBLIC health? Private health matters are PROTECTED by the Constitution. Public health matters are REGULATED by the government of We the People.
You just made up that distinction. All health matters have both some public and private component. I don't want to discuss this further with you here because I don't want to derail the primary discussion any further. (But feel free to start another thread on it, if you really want)
Half of the threads here in the abortion forum were started by you on some specious pretext! Why do you need yet another thread to discuss this CONSISTENT FAILURE in ALL of YOUR threads? Is it because you imagine that the UMPTEENTH fallacy is going to be the one that will make Abortion illegal?
