Maybe my defense of the FAA and flying comes from 20 years of military service in the aviation field? I maintained and flew many military aircraft. I'm not defending Boeing. My knowledge comes from experience. And yours?
As of yet we don't know what caused the last 737 to crash, but if Boeing does know what caused the first crash they should have already provided the fix to all the airlines that are flying their aircraft. Shame on Boeing for not doing so. I'm guessing it has to do with money.
Don't worry, AOC and the libs will ban planes so we will all be much safer soon. If it saves even one life isn't it worth it?
We all look forward to your comments as you always supply an answer to every post. Never mind that the solutions you give are absolute crap they always give the readers a smile and sometimes even a belly laugh.
Not to many years ago crossed paths with an old girlfriend at a party. She was with her boyfriend and proudly said my boyfriend flies a 757. I burst her bubble telling her that he didn't fly the 757 but a compter flew the 757. Then I cold cocked her with "My son actually fles a FA-18."
User error accounts for both crashes as I understand it. The co-pilot of the Ethiopian plane had only 200 hours of stick time. This is an AIRLINE PROBLEM, not an AIRPLANE PROBLEM.
Who y'gonna trust? Airbus Last night I tried to research the problem. As best as I could figure out, some pilots recovered by switching off the auto pilot functions that was causing the plane to nose down. If that is true, sounds like the ole Airbus problem from years ago. Over Auto Piloted, who's in charge! What, Me Worry? I gave up flying decades ago. I pay other's air fare instead. Moi Don't let manufacture Boeing Auto Pilot Systems
Just went through process of booking flight from LA to New York as a test and no indication of type of plane was given, just airline. So same as for flights booked in UK
How many hours did the other pilot have? And clearly there is an airplane problem as US pilots also reported that the plane had gone into a nosedive when autopilot was initiated.
And yet the Finns used them with great success. Beside, when it was designed in 1935 (first flight 1937) it was comparable to what was produce at the time. The Zero made his debut in 1939... The bad performance of the Buffalo was mostly due to the US tactics at the time. They didn't fly in paired flight for mutual defense. Also, naval pilot had to split their flight time between different type of planes instead of concentrating pilots to either fighters or attack planes. This changed later on, but at the start of the war most US pilots had way less experience in dogfigthing than the japanese who trained exclusively for one role starting at the age of 14.
You do realize that when a plane is in autopilot, a pilot is rarely near the controls? Just announced that the planes are being grounded in US too. The FAA clearly don't have faith in US pilots either
It was President Trump who ordered the grounding of the 737 Max 8. Well that's what's being reported. Not sure how CNN will be reporting the story ? CNN and MSNBC will likely report that Boeing is in collusion with Russia Russia Russia.
LOL It was actually Boeing who gave the order. Trump does not have the authority to do that but is taking "credit" for it - maybe he has not got faith in US pilots either.
Car manufacturers are the ones who issue recall notices. Ignore the notice and you risk being uninsured in an accident
Breaking... Ethiopian airline pilots only experience with computers was playing Donkey Kong. Still developing.
I was going to post it, but I thought it was already mentioned. It's a smart move on Trump's part, otherwise American planes would lose all reliability and it would be catastrophic for Boeing and the country - not to mention how Americans would feel not knowing what planes are being used, and whether they are safe or not. Who knows how many cancellations there are.
I don't know, but 200 hours in any seat in the cockpit of a commercial aircraft is unacceptable. I am not a piloy, but I am a very frequent flyer and I follow aviation closely. My understanding is this plane exhibited runaway pitch trim. All you have to do is reach down, turn OFF the pitch trim controller, and manually restore proper flight attitude. That's what a PILOT would do. These 3rd world airlines don't employ PILOTS, they employ SYSTEM OPERATORS. And that's the problem.
