So that makes it ok? You are joking, yes? If people, wealthy or not, don't pay taxes our costs go up as the debt needs to be satisfied in some other way. Of course he has to pay taxes. Trump's dereliction of his tax responsibilities is mind-boggling as he has cheated us out of millions. Stop defending these squirrels. They are all con-men, especially your con-man in chief.
A millenia, ha., not hardly enough. Torture to death on tv. He's lucky we spare his family That should teach him to report a crime as if he was actually entitled to protection from the police and courts. We must train these denizens of the lower orders to know their place in the proper scheme of things.
I agree. He's a non-violent criminal who's likely never even going to think about doing this again. Anything more than one year behind bars followed up by community service and probation seems excessive. Hell, I'd even forgo a period of probation if he performed community service after a year behind bars.
I think you have to consider this. What sentence will Russian FB trolls be facing? Arguably Smollett has MORE potential voter influence doesn't he? MAGA country lynch mob wasn't it? Smollett's INTENT is plain as day. Stoke racial division and influence voters.
True that; but then again this nation is very obviously operated for the political benefit of the Left nowadays from the justice system to the Legislative system and so the Leftist Rule logically needs to reign supreme in such cases. The Leftist Rule being that it is NEVER wrong when a leftist does it. Continue onward with the legal system as one has already started, I say. Why seek TRUE JUSTICE for everybody regardless of political affiliations now? That would only confuse things.
I just think overlooking the intended outcome is a bad idea. It's like ignoring the DUI and charging open container instead.
No, it doesn't make it okay. But to suggest that this rich guy doesn't pay his taxes, while the rest of us are paying ours, is specious. That rich guy has paid tons of taxes his whole life, and worked and worked and worked. He probably pays more in one year than most of us in our entire lives. He has definitely paid his share compared to most of us. So from my perspective, to put an old man in prison for hiding some of his income, is using a technicality as an excuse to torture. He should get a few months, fines, pay the taxes he hid, and community service. The wickedness in the the universe will not be brought to a balance by overkill. There has already been a perfect sacrifice for that purpose. I could be wrong. But that's my opinion.
We have no idea how many actual victims were ignored, due to the amount of time the Chicago PD had to spend on this, due to the visibility of this case. When a famous person is a victim of a crime, their case gets extra special attention. This is a fact in our country.
He should be charged with the crimes that he has accused others of plus his own crimes. So he should be charged with battery, assault, a racial hate crime, a homophobic hate crime, wasting police time, making false statements, sending himself the letters, the works. He should be in jail for 10 years for intentionally trying to create racial division. A truly vile human being.
True. Such has been the left wing strategy for decades. But can it be reversed or even so much as touched on Smolletts back?
No. If a father murders his daughter's rapist, the father gets charged with the murder. He doesn't also get charged with the rape. WTF?
He didn't lie about it though. I also believe if a woman makes up a rape claim then they should be charged with rape and given the appropriate sentence.
I couldn't disagree more. People should never be punished for a crime they didn't commit. Perhaps I could agree to the sentence for lying about a crime equal to the sentence for the type of crime falsely reported, but, no, we can't live in a society where, "Are you a rapist or did you falsely accuse someone of raping you?" is a legit question. Falsely reporting a crime should be a very serious offense, though.
I completely understand what you're saying. That's essentially my opinion, they should get an equal sentence to the one they are falsely accusing someone of. However you get there, that's what I believe should be the deterrent. You just explained it better than I did, cheers for that!
The one where he was beaten up and had bleach poured on him. The police couldn't solve it and so decided to pin it on Jussie, blame the victim first.
I've examined the facts and I see no conclusive evidence against him, nothing that precludes my scenario
