PM Ardern was on TV saying that it took Australia 12 days to enact our gun reform. They have done it in 72 hours

Its sad to see such oppression visited upon anyone, even if idiots ask for it...

Thus meaning those who have done nothing wrong, must be punished for the actions of those who did indeed do something wrong.

Stores to be emptied of stock before the laws are passed, I suppose. Will they enforce a buyback?

Americans will find gun laws alien and thus can't comprehend the concept. The laws don't stop attacks, they just make them less deadly.

Automatics, semi automatics, hand guns and high calibre rifles have no place in a civilised country.

Well the next step to making the world safer is to disband your military then, obviously.

BTW, I'm willing to bet the people in Nice, France disagree.

    One mosque.

The other mosque didn't get attacked like the other because one of them had a gun and drove the shooter away.

Disarm the military, no. You will find gun laws are applied to citizens.

Hence my first line of my previous post!! Thank you for confirming this so quickly.

So it's a good thing he had a gun to chase him off with then.

    Why not?

Would would you not disarm the military if such weapons have no place in a civilized society?

Answer: because people who want to kill you won't observe the law.

Disarming the populace hasn't worked out well in Europe. Terrorists always have guns, or bombs, or whatever.

So it's a good thing he was able to pick one up off the ground and fight back.

Or are you saying it would have been safer if he hadn't picked up the gun and fought back?

Anyone with a brain would realize the gun came with the shooter. No shooter, no gun, no need for a gun.

Anyone with a brain would realize that picking up a dropped gun to fight a guy shooting at you is far superior to standing there waiting 30 minutes for the cops to show up, with guns.

Ever notice how the cops always show up with guns?

It's almost like that's more effective or something.

He had already moved against the shooter, and had him on the run, before he picked up the gun.

As the only superpower in the world, no nation can be compared to us or with us in any meaningful way. This is just another attempt to denigrate America by lesser countries over some trifling matter, all the while acting as if those countries don't have problems of their own. Also as a note, school shootings include shootings on or around school property regardless of whether or not school is even in session. So drug dealers shooting at each other on a weekend in a liberal urban hell hole would count as a school shooting. How do these lesser nations gather and publish such information? How reliable is data collected from Yemen? You folks are too much, just don't ask us to bail you when it all goes wrong, you asked for it...

The gun was empty, that's why the shooter threw it down. The guy didn't shoot at the shooter, he threw the gun at him.

Again, no. Also, the populace are not disarmed.

Yet again, hence the first line of my original post.

    You're doing it wrong.

You have to stop thinking and let the pretty charts mesmerize you.

Yeah the "populace aren't disarmed" is why during the London Riots baseball bat sales on Amazon were up 3000%.

"Makes the attacks less deadly" couldn't be more false.

The highest death counts in Europe were bombed buses and a truck attack.
