Have you written software? Do you have any idea about the issues involved? I've worked with computers for over fifty years and written a lot of software. You seized on one thing in all of what I wrote and then made a dumb statement. Considering other things you've written, no one should be surprised.
After their standard deduction of $24,000. Are you saying people who make $24,001 should not pay 10% ($0.10) on the $1.00 of their 24,001th dollar?
Um I just said that I support the constitution because it is at least some means to control the thugs. I'd rather have a state with a constitution than a state without a constitution.
Hard to say. While I can't think of a person at the moment, I do have thoughts about what I want to see in their character and skills. Most important is being prepared to tell people the truth and prepared to act decisively. At the same time, the individual must be tuned into the underlying value structure of our society--earn your own way, contribute to society, be a good citizen and parent, act honorably.
Yeh, I can’t think of anyone checking all the boxes either. Between society desiring smooth talk and a pretty face and only power hungry egomaniacs wanting the job we are in a fix.
I would think that it would simply be necessary for the executive to effectively execute the legislation enact acted by the legislative branch.
Lol. You have one example, which I then utilized to ask a simple question, and your response is some jab about somebody being stupid because they asked you a question. I can play this game too. Thank god your no longer teaching our youth, I'm sure you did enough damage in your day.
Eh. I disagree. A large part of my profession is intellectual property. If that isn't protected, then people would just steal my ideas and I would be on the street. What one man creates in his mind is just as valuable as what one creates with a hammer and nails.
No, you tossed out a rather pathetic straw man and avoided all the other issues. I suppose supporting the Orange Oaf is a bit of a game to you. Damage from your viewpoint. The young people and adults I taught see through BSers who think the way you do. They actually know how the economy works. You don't.
I see. It's all about YOU. Can you make a case that all computer code should be protected for the life of the author plus 70 years, or if it was commissioned, for 95 to 120 years? Do you think "look and feel" should get full patent protection? Why should someone be entitled to protect a digital imagine of a Van Gogh painting? Why should society as a matter of public policy spend its resources protecting a digital image of what Van Gogh created more than a century ago? We don't get more images of Van Gogh paintings. There is no value to society to protect digital images of paintings created before digital cameras.
But... they can profit off of them. Let's assume that I spend the resources to invent a new technology. As soon as that technology is released, a company swoops in, copies it identically and sells it at a cheaper rate due to no upfront investment. What is the long term impact of people and companies desire to invest the R&D capital for new technology if they are just going to lose out in the end? Same with musicians, artists, pharmaceutical... failure to protect intellectual property would be the fastest way to stagnate development.
Why should we protect the digital image of paintings created before anyone contemplated digital photography? Thr answer? We shouldn't. We've extended copyrights and patents for too many years and into too many areas.
Anything beyond 20 year is not protected. And we dont. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.rocketlawyer.com/article-amp/public-domain.rl
No digital image of any painting created before digital cameras should be protected, even if the digital image is made today. Too much software is protected for too long.
If you don't want people to know your ideas, then keep them to yourself. Once you share your ideas, they are up for grabs.
Funny that you miss the point entirely. Trump have tough guys on his side but they are more ethical than the left unless pushed too far.
