https://www-m.cnn.com/2019/03/26/po...mpacts/index.html?r=http://www.smartnews.com/ Everyone will get hurt. I guess Trump is on a Power Parade?
It would be the courts, not Trump. The progressives want to take away all of our insurance and replace it with Post Office efficiency. LOL
Nope you will probably get to go back to a pretend healthcare plan that actually cover nothing at a very low cost.
Pretty hilarious the Trump has promised great heathcare for all Americans and in ten years the Republicans have yet to come up with a plan. Remember " Repeal and Replace" now actually " Repeal and do nothing"
My current plan is the exact same plan I had before carrying the exact same coverage. The ACA was not a good deal for someone like me who paid out of pocket for health coverage.
Repubs are trying desperately to turn the US into a third world country....poor healthcare....trade war....applauding murderers.
They should do away with everything in the ACA, except requiring Insurance Companies to be Fully transparent, upfront, as to what rthe policy Does Not Covered, limiting premium increases on a yearly basis and over the life of the policy, not allowing them to cancel coverage as long as premiums are paid, allowing patients to seek care from any physician/hospital. Low premiums for high deductibles. Ability to buy policies that meet the needs of the insureds, like no maternity coverage if beyond childbearing age or single male, or post hysterectomy and the like. Pay extra for abortion coverage, except in case of rape or harm to mother as determined by qualified doctor. The reason for rising healthcare costs were not addressed by ACA. Instead they chose to reduce physician, hospital, laboratory, medical equipment, nursing home, longer term care, home health care reimbursements. While imposing costly regulations and failing to increase payments as the costs of providing treatment continue to rise, especially the cost of doing business. Already patients still don't get the care they need because deductibles are too high and insurance companies refuse payment on whim. I could go on and on but it would do little good.
The ACA only affected the plans for those who got coverage through the exchanges or those plans that didn't meet the insurance requirements of the ACA. If your coverage is not on the exchange and has not changed then your cost increase can only be the greed of your insurance carrier.
You can’t expect private insurance to be profitable and impose all those restrictions Forcing companies to insure sick people is what makes insurance expensive when they need to make a profit too. Come on. Just let the fee market work...the one that allows insurance companies to insure only the people that aren’t sick to begin with drop them when they do get too sick and cost too much money. Heck, Mexico will pay for it regardless.
Well that is not totally true and you know it. Passing such broad legislation that even Dems didn't understand, wasn't the way to do it. And neither Dems or Republicans have yet to ask the Professionals closest to the problem. Obamacare gave Insurance companies the right to charge high deductibles on both premium policies, including group heath. Allowing to stop paying previously covered drugs and treatment on a whim. Insurance Regulation is needed to bring down the cost of premiums, allow employers and individuals to buy the coverage they need( obviously menopausal women don't need infant and obstetric care). Nor do single males. You want Medicare for all? Then those not eligible do to their age, must pay for it through a premium system based on their net income. That way everyone pays and taxes don't need to increase, and those with higher incomes don't have to pick up the tab for lower income earners. I might add that those using their insurance less, saving Medicare $, will help pay for Medicare reimbursements for others. Making the coverage free is not going to work.
Funny. That is why e Government or States could simply put individuals and families and small businesses into State Group Insurance. By doing this it will bring down costs. Those using the coverage less, pay for those using it more or with pre-existing conditions. That is the whole theory group coverage works on. Get it?
Universal Medicare for all is a group plan, the biggest group possible and the cheapest because of it. States have no chance in heck being effective. Poorer red states are already heavily federal aid receivers states and those with bigger tax base are donor states. You’d be back to Medicaid suppliments for poorer states. The fed easily handles Medicare and SS efficiently and are better run then most businesses. Get it Tito.
If Trump kills the ACA, the Dems will sweep both chambers of Congress and the WH. Then they will institute one party rule.
.......I don’t think Trump will and repos will do anything legislatively but promise the best healthcare after the election. They’ll just say what people want to hear. If the courts shut down the ACA, you’re right, they’ll be marching in the streets for the tens of thousands that will die.
Yeah, because inefficiency is what we all need. LOL Wonder if we will find piles of patients burnt in an alley like we do with mail?
Coverage will never be free. It will be paid for by taxation. The real issue is would Medicare for all cost more than the about 18% of GDP America already pays for healthcare. And yes people who use insurance less pay for those that use it more. Believe that is a rather standard feature of insurance. Seems that is how car insurance and home insurance, etc,etc have always worked. And buying only the coverage you need only means a lot of people won't be covered when they need insurance. Take insurance for cancer. Are you proposing letting people decide whether or not they need the coverage. And if they decide they don't need coverage and then get cancer who do you think is going to pay?
Health care costs. Period. The issue is how to finance the best care possible for the most people at the lowest, effective cost. Our managed capitalist health-care system has broken down because of the profit motive, which conflicts with cost controls. We need both parties to work together, and that has not been the case.
I'm OK with repeal and do nothing. It would simply put us back to 2009, when both healthcare and health insurance were far more affordable.
